Feral Interactive' recently announced Tropico 3: Gold Edition is now available for pre-order, and will be released in January, 2012. Developed by Haemimont Games and published by Kalypso Media for Windows, Tropico 3: Gold Edition is a re-imagining of the classic construction and management simulation Tropico.

Tropico 3: Gold Edition is a combination of strategic city-builder and humorous political simulator that invites players to reign as El Presidente, dictator of the resource-rich Caribbean nation of Tropico. To govern is to choose, and as players build their island’s infrastructure, manage the economy and keep competing factions on side, they will have plenty of opportunity to find out whether they prefer to rule with a velvet glove or an iron fist.

To maintain their grip on power, players will need to create a cult of personality around El Presidente, composing his silver-tongued speeches, manipulating the media and building monuments in his honor. El Presidente’s character will determine the way he is regarded by the people, and whether he is inclined to run Tropico as a vacation paradise, a police state, an industrial metropolis, or all three!

Each of the 15 missions in Tropico 3: Gold Edition’s campaign mode challenges players to develop a single island, each with its own victory conditions, within a set time frame. Tropico 3: Gold Edition includes the Absolute Power expansion pack, which contains a completely new 10-mission campaign, additional islands and the ability to issue “Megalomania” edicts such as “Print Money”.

Blizzard Entertainment has announced Balance, a new feature for its Battle.net service. The addition will give players a new way to purchase the company's products and services directly through a Battle.net account. Balance will allow the purchase of things such as character transfers and digital products as well as a convenient place to store earnings from Diablo III's upcoming auction house.

Soon, we’ll be introducing a new feature called Battle.net Balance that will give players an alternate way to purchase Blizzard products and services directly through their Battle.net account. Players will be able to “charge up” their Battle.net Balance using a variety of payment methods, and then use their Battle.net Balance to buy services like World of Warcraft character transfers, digital products like pets and mounts, and more. Players will also be able to use their Battle.net Account Balance to buy items and store their earnings from Diablo III’s currency-based auction house once the game is released.

Blizzard Entertainment has revealed the opening cinematic trailer for Diablo III, the eagerly anticipated next installment in the popular action RPG series. Diablo III will return players to the war torn world of Sanctuary, where they must once again take up arms against the forces of hell.
