Driver San Francisco Coming To Macs
6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | 5 comments

Blue's News has reported that Ubisoft's Driver San Francisco is in development for Mac OS X, with a release date still to be determined. The action oriented driving title will follow the storyline of the original Driver and will offer players the chance to switch to any car at any time.

After yesterday's release of playable console demos for DRIVER San Francisco, we sent an inquiry to Ubisoft to see if a Windows and/or Mac demo is planned, and learned the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 are the only platforms getting an advance sample of this driving action game. Along the way we did receive a concrete release date for the game, which was previously revealed to be in September and later reported to be August 30 for North America. We're told the Windows version's release date in North America (which is listed as September 6 on every retail listing we can find) is being pushed back a few weeks to September 27th, and that while an OS X edition is still planned, its release date is now TBD.

Telepath RPG: Servants Of God Beta Build Offers Mac Version
6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story

SinisterDesign.net has announced the release of a major beta update to Telepath RPG: Servants of God, an upcoming tactical RPG scheduled for release later this year. Among other things the update offers Mac players the chance to play off their hard drives rather than being limited to browser based play.

Iíve now officially released the first AIR build of Telepath RPG: Servants of God! This version of the game runs on Windows, Mac and Linux alike using a single installer.

To install, make sure you have Adobe AIRĖitís free and available online. Install AIR firstĖonce thatís taken care of, get the game and install it.

This build features a ton of improvements to the gameĖso many that I canít get into them all hereĖbut here are a few:

  • The Crypt of the Poet King is now finished, and boy is it ever a nasty one.
  • My favorite new feature is that your character can now use drugs and (depending on your luck) get addicted, suffering prolonged withdrawal effects if he goes too long without a hit. (Donít do drugs, kids!)
  • You can now swap out orbs between battles.
  • Thereís new music in the game that plays during the battle preparation screen.
  • There are a ton of bug fixes.
  • The game engine now officially supports voiced dialog.
  • Did I mention that Mac and Linux owners can now play the game off their hard drives? Because they can. And itís awesome.
More info about the game:
Part Japanese strategy RPG, part free-roaming Western RPG, there is no RPG out there quite like Telepath RPG: Servants of God. The finished game will feature:
  • Tactical turn-based combat where positioning and planning are key
  • Dozens of different psychic and physical abilities to manipulate and decimate your enemies
  • A narrative about identity, the nature of the mind, and the existence of God
  • A party of characters that you can choose to grow close with or alienate
  • A rich steampunk fantasy world populated by different races and factions, each with its own agenda

Successful Use Of Time Manipulation In City Of Heroes
6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story

Paragon Studios has posted a new Intrepid Informer article detailing features available in its super hero themed MMO, City of Heroes. This time the Informer focuses on the Time Manipulation power set, with tips and tricks for getting the most out of the abilities.

Hello. Phil "Synapse" Zeleski here to talk to you all about the new support set Time Manipulation and go into detail on each individual power within the set. This power set is a primary power set choice for Defenders and a secondary power set choice for Controllers, Corruptors and Masterminds. This power set is a sort of jack of all trades. It can heal, buff, debuff and even control foes. Time Manipulation brings a new mechanic to the table with the Accelerated and Delayed effects. Accelerated is placed on an ally when Temporal Selection is used. Allies benefitting from Accelerated will receive additional healing from Temporal Mending and Chrono Shift. Delayed is placed on foes when they are struck by Time Crawl. While Delayed all offensive powers within the Time Manipulation set are more powerful than normal.
