Combat Mission: Battle For Normandy Coming Soon To Macs

Battlefront.com has announced that Combat Mission is returning to Macs with the soon to be released Combat Mission: Battle for Normandy. The World War II war game is now fully compatible with Mac OS X 10.6 and higher and is available for pre-order immediately.

Combat Mission: Battle for Normandy (CM:BN) faithfully recreates the experience of tactical land warfare in Western France during World War Two. Using the unique Turn-Based (WeGo)/Real-Time hybrid game system of our proprietary CMx2 battle engine, the first installment in this new series covers the three months after the Allied D-Day landings in Normandy in June 1944, from Operation Overlord in June through the Cobra Breakout in August.

You can pre-order CM:BN in a special SteelBook(TM) Limited Collector Edition for Mac OS X! New Diablo III Facebook Screenshots Available

Blizzard Entertainment recently revealed another new screenshot and piece of concept art to celebrate the 825,000 Likes milestone on its official Diablo III Facebook page. The game will allow players to revisit the world of Sanctuary where they must once again take up arms against the demonic forces threatening humanity.

Diablo III will pick up the story twenty years after the events of Diablo II. Mephisto, Diablo, and Baal have been defeated, but the Worldstone, which once shielded the inhabitants of the world of Sanctuary from the forces of both the High Heavens and the Burning Hells, has been destroyed, and evil once again stirs in Tristram. Playing as a hero from one of five distinct character classes, players will acquire powerful items, spells, and abilities as they explore new and familiar areas of Sanctuary and battle hordes of demons to safeguard the world from the horrors that have arisen.

Diablo III will feature a custom 3D-graphics engine to render lush indoor and outdoor areas of Sanctuary with a high level of detail and vivid special effects. The game’s physics-enhanced environments will be interactive and destructible, offering traps and obstacles that create added danger for players and monsters alike. These elements, along with a new quest system and random scripted events, will be integrated into the game’s random-level generator, giving Diablo III the ultimate combination of dynamic gameplay and replayability. Cooperative and competitive play will be available online through an upgraded version of Blizzard Entertainment’s renowned online gaming service, Battle.net.

Tim Sweeney Discusses City Of Heroes

Ten Ton Hammer has posted a new interview with Paragon Studios' Tim Sweeney, Senior Designer for the comic book themed City of Heroes. The article covers new content for the game in the Issue 20 expansion.

Ten Ton Hammer: Please tell us about the two Incarnate Trials. What's involved for players to access them, and how do they work?

Tim "Black Scorpion" Sweeney, Senior Designer: Issue 20 Incarnates introduced the Incarnate Trials with the Behavioral Adjustment Facility and Lambda Sector. Both are assaults on key facilities of Emperor Cole’s (Tyrant), guarded by his Incarnate empowered Praetors, and continue the story of repelling the Praetorian Invasion arc started with Going Rogue. These and future Incarnate Trials are endgame, fast-paced, challenging encounters for groups larger than the 8 player team.


Players are transported into the Incarnate Trials by means of the Team-Up Teleporter, which will whisk them, their team, or their entire league into the Incarnate Trials from just about anywhere else in the game. The TUT will also link up smaller teams or solo players waiting to tackle the Trials, so it’s easier to bring together the numbers needed.

In Lambda Sector the players break into Cole’s munitions depot and cloning facility to wreak havoc, which draws the attention of Marauder. Players will have to split up and quickly obtain items from the bowels of the facility in order to weaken Marauder and prevent being overwhelmed by his endless reinforcements.

In the Behavioral Adjustment Facility, the players have to prevent the release of a mental virus – the vector being the unlucky prisoners Cole has experimented on. You’ll have to prevent contagion by stopping the escape and beat the robotic wardens Siege and Nightstar to prevail.

EVE Online: Captain's Quarters, New Tutorials

In a recent dev blog CCP Games has revealed that the new Captain's Quarters feature is currently in testing, and that new tutorials for first time players are in development. Captain's Quarters will offer players a 3D representation of their character's avatar in the captain's quarters, bringing the game another step closer to multiplayer avatar interactions.

As mentioned in CCP Chiliad's latest blog, we are in the process of putting together the Captain's Quarters and a whole slew of new tutorials, and a new crash-course as part of the first iteration of Incarna. We want to give you fine folks all a chance to get a first-hand glimpse of the new Captain's Quarters as the new station environment and especially to get critical feedback about the new crash-course mission strings and tutorials that we've created to go along with it. For the first time ever you'll be able to walk around inside a station within the EVE Online client!

Is everything polished? No. We're still at the chisel-in-hand-in-front-of-a-marble-form stage. So if you would prefer, wait till the exhibition opens and patch day is here and save your judgments on our designs-in-progress till then.
