Din's Curse: Demon War Available For Pre-Order
6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story

Soldak Entertainment has announced that pre-orders of the Din's Curse: Demon War expansion are now available. In addition, gamers who pre-order the expansion will receive full access to the latest beta build, a reduced pre-order price, the opportunity to give Soldak feedback about the game, and the final version when it becomes available.

Din's Curse: Demon War is the first expansion for the unique action RPG Din's Curse. Din's Curse is a single player and co-op multiplayer action RPG for Windows and Mac PCs with 141 class combinations (196 with the expansion), infinite number of dynamically generated towns, real consequences, and a dynamic, evolving world.

The demons of Aleria are furious! After the 4th Great War and necromancer Ciglio's death, the undead horde has been causing utter chaos, attacking everything that moves... even demons. Demonkind were quite happy when Serina, a human city, was overrun, but that was before thousands of human zombies poured into Kraval, slaughtering the huge demon city. Thus began the Demon War. Demons of all kinds are fighting back. They're hunting down and killing any undead they find. Oh, and they blame the humans for this entire mess. For spite, they razed Serina to the ground even though it was already deserted.

As a servant of the mighty Din, it's your responsibility to safeguard humans from danger. This was a hard task before. Do you have what it takes to save humankind from the Demon War?

Features:
  • Play the Demon Hunter class (now 196 total class combinations)
  • Fight many new demons (3 new species, 8 new types, 40 new variants)
  • Solve tons of new quests
  • Help the NPCs as they interact much more with the world and each other
  • Experience many more world modifiers
  • Explore new environments
  • Interact with the world in new ways
  • Survive the Demon War
  • Basically experience a lot more of what makes Din's Curse incredibly unique
Din's Curse: Demon War can be pre-ordered for $8.99. Follow the links below to learn more.

IMG Reviews Supreme Commander 2
6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story

Inside Mac Games has posted a new review of Virtual Programming's Supreme Commander 2. The real time strategy game drops players into the middle of a war between three galactic empires and gives them the chance to command enormous armies comprised of a host of customizable units.

Here's an excerpt from the review:

Supreme Commander 2's streamlined production mechanics allow for the fielding of giant armies quickly. It always rewards aggressive play, both in attacking and expanding to take more resources. Within minutes you can have a significant force and if you aren't attacking you will end up defending. Tech up enough and you can build a variety of Experimental Units which can absolutely devastate the opposition in moments. Unless, of course, they have their own to counter yours. Other battlefield changing tech is long range artillery and nuke silos. If you don't have nukes, you'd better have anti-nukes or you can expect to see your base go up in a giant mushroom cloud.

IMG Reviews Majesty 2

Inside Mac Games has posted a new review of Virtual Programming's Majesty 2. The game puts players in the role of a ruler seeking to restore his kingdom to its former glory. To succeed they will need to recruit heroes and convince them to set forth and battle the many monstrous threats menacing the people of Ardania.

Here's an excerpt from the review:

The core experience of Majesty 2, constructing buildings and placing flags, is still just as entertaining now as it was with Majesty. There's just something rewarding about giving your heroes a semi-safe leveling environment and watching them lay waste to the hordes of monsters on the countryside. In some cases, like the wizards, a single hero can take on dozens of monsters alone and destroy them all in seconds. It never ceases to be satisfying.

Oni Update In The Works
6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | 3 comments

MacGamer recently posted an interview with Feral Interactive's Edwin Smith about work on an update for Oni. The action game follows the exploits of Konoko, a skilled operative who must unravel the dark secrets of her past while fighting to save the world from destruction.

Tell us about how it came to be that Oni ended up in your lap.
Feral had the international (everywhere but North America) rights to the Oni game so as part of helping with support we needed to patch and maintain our older games with the newer OS releases. Oni at the time was OS9 only but Ken Case at the OmniGroup had ported the game to OS X and had released a patch which we linked to when asked about support.

When Intel Macs came out Ken started on an Intel patch but as Omni never really sold Oni and patching was time consuming he wanted someone to pass the baton onto. As Feral already had access to the source code and had published the game in the rest of the world we organized for him to pass on the work he had done on the Omni version so we could use this as a basis of the official Intel release.
