StarCraft II Single Player Preview

IncGamers has posted a new preview of StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty, the upcoming sequel to Blizzard Entertainment's popular sci-fi RTS. The preview focuses on the single player content in the game, which will include a new storyline and a variety of unique units. StarCraft 2 will pick up a few years after the end of Broodwar and will follow the story of the Terrans.
11 years of game development later, StarCraft II is arriving with the same premise (as the original): A well polished multiplayer experience, with a single player game mode on top. However, this time Blizzard is a multi-million dollar company and a lot more resources have been pushed into the single player aspect this time around. The two gameplay experiences are now completely separated to make sure neither makes any compromises in terms of gameplay enjoyment.Check out the full article at the page linked below.
StarCraft II's single player comes with more content and units, including molotov-cocktail-throwing unarmoured civilians, race cars, trucks, massive transport ships, gigantic mining lasers and a host of units from the original game that were cut from multiplayer development.
Blizzard has stated that the single player campaign is not a tutorial for the multiplayer game. The single player campaign, which is split into three parts, will deliver the story and immersion of the universe as almost its own game all together. If you need help, separate training scenarios and guides will be available instead of "dumbing down" the story mode campaign.

IMG Reviews The Secret Of Monkey Island: Special Edition

Inside Mac Games has posted a new review of The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition from LucasArts and Aspyr Media. The game is a "reimagining" of the original 1990 title, updated with contemporary art, remastered music, full voiceover, and a new hint system.
Here's an excerpt from the review:
If you are a little leery about playing an 8-Bit game, however, you don't need to worry. One of the main improvements over the original game is an increased resolution, remastered sprites, and a lush set of backgrounds that look much better than the pixelated screens of the original. This has even allowed you to see a closer look of the characters, like Meathook, that you had to imagine before based on a sprite of under a few dozen pixels. It has definitely enriched the experience quite a bit.Click on the link below to read the full review.
The Secret Of Monkey Island: Special Edition Review
The sounds and music have also been improved greatly. All the music tracks are improved, the sounds are crisp and clear, and all the dialogue is now both read, and read by professionals. One of the strengths of all the modern Lucasarts games is the quality of their voice actors, and that definitely shines in SM:SE. From the insulting French acrobats to the slightly depressed ghost crew sergeant, all the voices are excellent and a welcome addition to the game.
