Aspyr Media and Activision Publishing have announced that they have teamed up once again, this time to create Guitar Hero World Tour for Mac and Windows PCs. The game expands Guitar Hero’s signature guitar gameplay into a cooperative band experience, offering state-of-the-art wireless controllers, new online and offline gameplay modes, and a Music Studio feature for composing and editing original rock and roll anthems.
Guitar Hero World Tour includes 86 on-disc tracks from music legends such as The Eagles, Van Halen, Metallica, Michael Jackson and The Doors. It also features in-game appearances by world famous artists such as Ozzy Osbourne, Billy Corgan and Travis Barker.
“Guitar Hero World Tour is the standard for music games on consoles and we can’t wait to unleash this incredible experience on computer gamers,” said Ted Staloch, Executive Vice President, Aspyr Media. “With full band play, support for the new wireless controllers, the ability to create their own music and an amazing array of customization options, Guitar Hero World Tour will be the definitive music game on PC and Mac. We are proud to once again be working with Activision to extend this powerful brand to an eager audience of gamers.” Guitar Hero World Tour for Mac and PC will be available summer 2009. The game is rated “T” for Teen by the ESRB.
Guitar Hero World Tour delivers more ways to play than ever before. Virtual musicians can live out their rock and roll fantasies by playing either a single instrument in-game, or any combination of instruments within the game, in addition to the full band experience. Building on all of the online gameplay modes from Guitar Hero® III: Legends of Rock, Guitar Hero World Tour introduces Battle of the Bands mode, which allows eight players to join online and challenge each other band-to-band to determine who is the best of the best. In the Band modes, up to four players can jam together, online or offline, as they progress through the game. In single-player Career Mode, players can jam on any of the instruments in-game utilizing the controllers in branching venue progression enabling them to rock out in the order of their choice.
The game’s innovative new Music Studio lets players express their musical creativity by giving them access to a full complement of tools to create digital music from scratch, utilizing all of the drum kit controller and guitar controllers, and then play their compositions in the game.

IMG Reviews FishCo

Inside Mac Games has posted a review of the fish-simulator FishCo. In the game, you play an aquarium shop owner. You will have to successfully complete various tasks in order to make it through the game. Here's an excerpt from the review:
As with most sim games, there are several objectives to meet when playing FishCo, eg sell 7 tetras and earn $60 within 4 minutes. FishCo manages to execute the gameplay fairly well, with a wide selection of fish species and various other water features to add variation to the game. Breeding fish is fairly easy and doesn’t require much help, bar a very simple tutorial.Follow the link below to read the full review.

The tutorial teaches you as you play through the game’s large feature set. This is handy, as a full-on thorough teaching would take way too long and it encourages you to master the basics before moving on.

iGame Radio Logo Contest Extended, Prizes Detailed
6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story
iGame Radio has extended the deadline for its Logo Contest to May 22, 2009, and included information about some of the prizes available. Launched in February, the logo contest seeks those with an "itch to draw, paint, or move those pixels to create the right design for a new logo for the iGame Radio podcast." The prize package includes offerings from MusicSkins and PopCap Games. As more prizes are added to the package, they will be included on the website.
Background:More information about the contest, including rules for format and submission, are located at the iGame Radio Logo Contest page at the link below.
iGame Radio Logo Contest Rules
When iGame Radio first started in summer of 2005, I needed a logo but didn’t have the money to get one done professionally. I wanted something that connected to the gaming side of things while at the same time hit upon the whole “i” part as well. I utilized a font that gave off gaming “vibes” and used an “eye” that I had photoshopped from one off the web.
But iGame Radio is going through some changes, (soon a new website and perhaps a new focus), and I’d like a new logo to go with it. But I’m cheap…thus, a logo contest with cool prizes!
To create a logo for iGame Radio that reminds those viewing it of gaming, while at the same time connects in some way to the name of the podcast. To have fun, get prizes, and earn some ‘net cred for your work.
Must include the name “iGame Radio” within the logo. Must be readily viewable in a smaller format, such as iPhone, thumbnails, or favicons (or at least, for that last one, easily edited to the size, and still maintain the ideas of the logo). Must work in low resolution as well. All fonts and artwork used must either be available under a free license or the creator’s own that s/he is licensing to me for the purposes of the logo. And do remember that the logo is necessary for both the web and print…not all fonts look good in both.
$500 prize package. Prizes so far are worth $250:
• 10 free skins from MusicSkins
• PopCap Games Deluxe gaming package:
• 1 copy of Peggle Dual Shot (DS)
• 1 copy of Peggle (Mac)
• 1 copy of BookWorm (Mac)
• 1 copy of Bejeweled 2 (Mac)
• 1 copy of Zuma (Mac)
• 1 PopCap gaming mug
