IMG Reviews Fable: The Lost Chapters
8:03 AM | Marcus Albers | 12 comments

Inside Mac Games has posted a review of the much-anticipated port of Fable: The Lost Chapters from Feral Interactive. Here's a clip from the review:

Thankfully, the main gameplay of F:LC is extremely entertaining if you simply ignore the alignment system. This is mainly due to the simplicity of the fighting mechanics. Regardless of which fighting style you choose (melee, ranged, or magic), the controls are quite easy to master and feel very intuitive. By the end of the first few hours, you'll find yourself pulling off the decapitating bow sneak attacks and melee flourishes with ease. The magic spells are also quite balanced as a separate discipline, although you can easily break every boss in the game if you combine the magic spells with the ranged skills. (Hint: Slow Time plus Multishot + excellent bow) No matter how many times I charged into the center of a group of bandits, it still was just as fun to slaughter them all without taking a single hit.

This week's desktop, courtesy of IMG's own Brad Custer, features the highly anticipated expansion pack, World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King, from Blizzard Entertainment.

Here's what Brad had to say:

The regular updates about World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King from Blizzard Entertainment keeps my inbox a buzz with excitement about the upcoming title. And this week wasn't any different. In fact, a long time fan of my desktops requested I put my special touch on the death knight artwork that's floating around the internet. Of course, I enjoy honoring all your requests and venturing back into the realm we all love so much. I was able to make this week's wallpaper with the help of Blizzard Entertainment. I simply entitled this selection, "Death Knight", and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it. :)

6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story

Worthplaying has once again posted a new collection of screenshots and a new movie trailer for Spore, Will Wright's latest god sim project. In the game players steer the course of a single celled organism from its early days in the primordial ooze to its eventual ascension to the lofty reaches of outer space.

The next evolution in gaming is upon us. From the mind of Will Wright, the creator of The Sims, comes SPORE, an epic journey that takes you from the origin and evolution of life through the development of civilization and technology and eventually all the way into the deepest reaches of outer space.

Begin your odyssey at the dawn of life as a simple microbe just trying to survive, then use the fun, intuitive Editors to evolve the creature from its microscopic origins into an intelligent, tool-using race. Guide your species as it builds (and the player designs) villages, buildings, cities, and vehicles. Along the way to becoming a global civilization you can choose whether to hunt or forage, attack or trade, be nice or play rough!
