Grubby Games Releases FizzPack Collector's Edition

Grubby Games has announced the release of the FizzPack Collector's Edition, a compilation of the Professor Fizzwizzle series of puzzle and action games. The Collector's Edition includes the original Professor Fizzwizzle, Molten Mystery, Fizzball, and features a variety of bonus materials including extra levels, wallpapers, and avatars.

Here's a list of extras included with the FizzPack:

- Over 1000 bonus levels, created by fans!
- Desktop wallpapers showing Professor Fizzwizzle all around the world!
- Avatar images you can use to identify yourself in online forums!
- Exclusive high-resolution images of the prof, bots, animals, and more!
The Fizzpack Collector's Edition is a hybrid CD containing Windows, Mac, and Linux versions of the games. It costs $49.95.

Musika For iPod Reviewed

Pocket Gamer has unveiled a new feature examining Musika, a puzzle game for fifth generation iPods. Designed by Masaya Matsuura, creator of PaRappa the Rapper, Musika plays a song from an iPod library and challenges players to press a button when they recognize a number or letter from the song's title. Pocket Gamer gave Musika a score of 6 out of 10.

So it's straightforward, but how does it play? Well, Musika is... different. Which sounds like faint praise, so let us elaborate. It's a novel attempt to create a game that really makes use of the iPod's music features, rather than just shoehorning an existing casual game genre onto Apple's device. In that respect, it sits alongside the fab iQuiz.

What's more, it's pretty addictive when you first start, with the steadily-accumulating scoring system providing ample reason to keep pressing that button like a hypnotised lab-rat. And, of course, your music is the soundtrack, so as long as you haven't filled the iPod with stuff you don't really like, you'll obviously enjoy the audio side of Musika.

However, on the flip-side, the game itself is a bit lightweight and after a few plays you might find yourself getting a bit, well, bored. It doesn't quite nail the replayability factor, making this a game to admire, but not one to necessarily play for months.

StarCraft II Previewed

Computer and Video Games has posted a new preview of the upcoming StarCraft II. The article focuses on several of the new units available to Terrans in the long awaited sequel. StarCraft II will return players to the storyline several years after the end of BroodWar. The game will include an epic single player campaign, improved multiplayer action, and a powerful new editor for players who want to design their own StarCraft creations.

This is the challenge and thrill of Starcraft II, the long, long awaited follow-up to the brilliant sci-fi strategy original. In your hands are tiny soldiers and glorious machinery. When you throw them against an enemy the result is usually swift and obvious: you either win, or you don't.

The weak-points are clear. Groups of Thors waddle into action, their stumpy legs barely carrying the great mass of metal and gunpowder hefted on their iron shoulders. All that weight causes them problems when turning. Like the Death Star, their guns can't track fast-moving targets. The canny commander will get infantry in close to circle the Thor, cackling as they dodge its artillery barrage.

In the same way that dogs can't look up, the Viking can't defend itself from surface attack when on high, or air attack when grounded. Entire platoons can vanish if caught out.

This is deliberate, purposeful, clever balancing. The Blizzard team making Starcraft II are all long-term veterans of real-time strategy development. They're led by Rob Pardo - he worked as a designer on the original Starcraft, led the development of its expansion pack, Brood War, and now supervises design on all Blizzard's games.

New Wrath of the Lich King Screenshots

A new group of screenshots from the upcoming Wrath of the Lich King, Blizzard's second expansion for the popular World of Warcraft, is now available on the official site. Lich King will include an increased Level 80 cap for characters, the new area of Northrend to explore, and the first hero class in the game: the Death Knight.

The Lich King Arthas has set in motion events that could lead to the extinction of all life on Azeroth. With the armies of the undead and the necromantic power of the plague threatening to sweep across the land, only the mightiest heroes can oppose the Lich King's will and end his reign of terror for all time.

Blizzard Entertainment's latest expansion to World of Warcraft Wrath of the Lich King adds a host of epic content to the existing game world. Players will achieve soaring levels of power, explore a vast new continent, and battle other high-level heroes to determine the fate of Azeroth.
