The official EVE Online release date for Mac has been confirmed. The Mac client will be available for download on Tuesday, November 6.
Vikas Gupta of TransGaming took the stage during the EVE Online Fanfest keynote on Saturday afternoon, to introduce the release date of the Mac and Linux clients. Although the game has only been available for Windows to date -- and therefore the audience at the Fanfest therefore consisted mostly of Windows gamers -- the crowd cheered when the Apple logo appeared on the displays, as CCP Games CEO Hilmar Petursson introduced Vikas Gupta to the stage.
As with the Windows version, the game application will be a free download, and a free 14 day trial is available, after which the monthly subscription cost of $14.95 (€14.95 in Europe) will apply. Reduced prices are available for 3, 6, and 12 month plans. See the link below for more information about EVE Online subscriptions.

Blizzard Entertainment has added another unit to the growing list of buildings and units featured on the official StarCraft II website. This time Blizzard unveils the Protoss Observer, a support unit offering detection of hidden enemy units. The site update features new visuals of the SC II version of the Observer in action.
These small drones are employed to survey vast wasteland areas or observe and record battles for study within the protoss archives. Their complex sensor array leaves little energy for defenses, but they can detect cloaked or concealed enemies with ease. This ability makes observers invaluable auxiliary units on the battlefield.Click over to the site below for more information about all the StarCraft II units.
StarCraft II: Protoss Observer
Observers that are used for deep-space exploration are often deployed without any defensive systems. However, those destined for use in a combat zone are equipped with a micro-cloaking field to hide them from the enemy. The small sensor signature of an observer means that the drone does not have to drain its energy in order to maintain the field over long periods.
