Inside Mac Games Reviews Frenzic 2:09 PM | Tuncer Deniz | Comment on this story
Inside Mac Games has posted a review of Icon Factory's Frenzic. Here's a clip from the review: Frenzic is a rapid-fire puzzle game where you match colored wedges to form complete pies. The point of the game is to survive as long as possible as the game continually ups the pace. The Frenzic board has seven circular ports arranged on a round board. Get your wedges from the middle port and place them in one of the six ports around the perimeter to make complete pies. You can make pies of one color or many, but you get the biggest scores by making pies from just wedges of the same hue. It takes six wedges to fill a pie, and the wedges come in three colors, green, purple and orange. To check out the full review, please follow the link below.

Apple Games Features iPod Zuma 6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story
Apple Games' iPod games coverage has continued with a feature on Zuma. A match three game, Zuma asks players to fire marbles into a chain of the colored orbs moving along a track. Apple's article includes an overview of the game's features and a few hints and tips for success. Some marbles contain power-ups that unleash their special abilities when eliminated. You’ll come across four of them, each with a unique symbol: accuracy (target icon), which creates a tip at the end of the light beam, enabling you to fire marbles with greater precision; backwards (arrow icon), which sends the chain rolling in reverse for a few seconds; bomb (detonation icon), which destroys all marbles in its vicinity; and slowdown (pair of rectangles), which slows the chain to a crawl for a few seconds. Zuma features over a dozen levels to tackle, with a control scheme perfectly suited to the iPod’s click wheel. A catchy musical theme keeps your feet and fingers tapping while you play, and the engaging sound effects include a satisfying click each time a ball makes contact with the chain. Check out the entire feature at the link below.

StarCraft MMO Rumor Builds 6:00 AM | Cord Kruse | Comment on this story
Computer and Video Games recently added fuel to the fires of speculation surrounding Blizzard Entertainment's upcoming new game announcement on May 19th. Quoting "well placed US sources," CVG stated the game will be an MMO spin-off of the StarCraft series. Of course this is massive news for both Vivendi and the MMO world; Blizzard's other online offering World of Warcraft has topped 6 million subscribers and is arguably the biggest game around today. The question is, is there room for both World of Warcraft and a StarCraft MMO? The later will have to be a very different type of online game to convince gamers to subscribe to both of Blizzard's pair. Head over to the site below to read the rest.
