Aspyr Media today announced that the Mac version of The Sims 2 Pets from Electronic Arts has shipped to retail outlets nationwide. The Sims 2 Pets is the fourth expansion pack for The Sims 2 and is set to land on retail shelves nationwide for Mac within weeks of the title's release for PCs and consoles. The Sims 2 Pets was developed for the Mac by Aspyr Studios, Aspyr's internal development team, under license from EA.
The addition of a new friend is guaranteed to enrich the daily lives of your Sims! Not only will players have the opportunity to choose from a variety of existing breeds, and hot designer mixes, but they'll also be able to personally design their new friend with the Create-a-Pet feature. The ability to customize gives fans the opportunity to create their ideal pet by choosing their body shape, unique markings, even their pet's personalities! Players will also be able to teach their pet new tricks, take them for a romp in the park, outfit them with new pet accessories and even give them a job! As in real life, your Sims' pet will require care and training. A neglected cat with an urge to scratch might claw up your new couch if you aren't careful, and leaving your dog unattended near a freshly planted flower bed probably isn't wise!

The gameplay is identical to the original Diner Dash, but instead of Flo, you play SpongeBob, working for Mr. Krabs who wants to expand his restaurant empire. Your job is to seat customers, take orders, deliver food, give customers their checks, and bus the tables, all as quickly as possible so that the customers stay happy and tip well. You earn money for doing things well, and can lose money if customers get fed up and leave. THQ Plans Global Cross Platform Release of Ratatouille

THQ has announced plans for a multiplatform global release of the game based on Pixar's upcoming Ratatouille, an animated feature which details the adventures of a young rat named Remy. For the first time in THQ's history the company will offer simultaneous releases for 11 different platforms, including Mac OS X.
Here's a bit more about the game:
In the game, players will assume the role of Remy, a young rat whose love for great food puts him at odds with the needs of his family. Fans will be able to relive some of the film's most thrilling moments and experience the sights, sounds and most importantly, the smells, of Paris a la Remy across a multitude of gaming systems. Players will instantly recognize the storyline, characters and key locations of Ratatouille, as they engage in a series of unique mini-games, cooking challenges and head-to-head multiplayer. Ratatouille will allow players to create culinary masterpieces, evade detection from dangerous and often hungry enemies, and brave the perils of the dinner-rush in this senses-shattering journey to fulfill Remy's life-long dream of becoming a great chef.Ratatouille is scheduled to release in Summer 2007 at the same time as the movie.
