Rise of Legends Preview Released
11:01 AM | Franklin Pride | Comment on this story
Ign.com has released a preview for Rise of Legends, the sequel to Rise of Nations. The preview covers the Alim nation and its many units and buildings. Here's a small sample of Alim building varieties:
* Desert Walker: The Desert Walker is the basic Alim foot soldier. Desert Walkers are the foundation of the Alim army and are feared for their ability to attack with ruthless aggression and disregard for personal safety.Although the Macintosh version hasn't been announced yet, Rise of Nations was ported to Macintosh, and Rise of Legends seems a likely candidate to follow.
* Scorpion: This beast of the dunes has been domesticated and bred by the Alim for centuries. Occurring in nature to a size of about four feet high, the Alim have bred for speed, size, and power, and now command hordes of Scorpions that stand nearly seven feet high and whose pincers can snap swords in two.

Diablo II Turns Five
10:19 AM | Franklin Pride | Comment on this story
On June 30th, Diablo II reached its fifth anniversary. Blizzard released a short post thanking gamers for this landmark, but did not announce any new content for the Diablo series.
Through the tortured body of a possessed hero, Diablo, Lord of Terror, made his way east from Tristram across the vast deserts surrounding the ancient city of Lut Gholein and ultimately into the bowels of his domain in Hell, where his horrific army was amassing. It was five years ago today that he reunited with his brothers, Mephisto and Baal, in a nefarious new plot to enslave the world of mortals. Despite the awe-inspiring power of the Prime Evils, it seems the sheer will of humanity had been underestimated. For across the world, legions of Necromancers, Amazons, Paladins, Sorceresses, and Barbarians rose to the challenge and again confronted the forces of evil head-on. Blizzard, and indeed the whole of mankind, thank you for your five years of dedication to this noblest of causes.New content could be coming as a prefix to this short release, so stay posted for further updates if that is the case.

Brad Custer, IMG's desktop guru has once again graced us with one of his creations. This week's desktop features e.p.i.c. Interactive's Robin Hood: The Legend of Sherwood.
Here's what Brad had to say about his latest creation entitled, "Masterful Thief":
Robin Hood: The Legend of Sherwood from e.p.i.c. interactive and Freeverse has been on the store shelves for a bit now, but a faithful viewer pointed out that I've never made a desktop for the game and asked for one. By now you should know I have a sickness that causes me to honor all your email requests. So, with the help of the gang from Freeverse and my trusty broadband connection I was able to create this week's wallpaper. To check out the desktop, head over to Custer's Desktops.

Happy Canada Day From IMG
8:58 AM | Jean-Luc Dinsdale | Comment on this story
Well, another year, another Stanley Cup... no, wait...
Once again, the world-trotting team of reporters and writers here at IMG would like to wish our readers north of the 49th parallel another happy and sunny Canada Day.
Pull out your backbacon and crack open a Labatt's 50, put on your tattered old Expos baseball cap, crank up the Rush tape, hang out in the backyard and set off a few firecrackers to celebrate.
And no drinking and driving, eh?
