Apple Posts Commandos Battle Pack Feature
9:06 AM | Tuncer Deniz | Comment on this story

The Apple games web site has posted a new preview of Feral's upcoming squad-based strategy game, the Commandos Battle Pack. The pack, which recently went gold, will include Commandos 2: Men of Courage and Commandos
3: Destination Berlin and is due out later this month.

Here's a clip from the preview:

I have discovered, however, that such fellows often possess the single-minded drive needed for the team to succeed in its missions. Each has been chosen for their skill in a particular area, allowing me to assemble the right team for each task. Above all else, I have insisted that stealth is key to our success. This is not a team brought together for frontal assaults rather, they will slip into enemy territory, carry out their duties and retreat before the Germans even know they were there.

Ign.com has postedan interview with Quake IV developer Tim Willits. The interview covers the new graphics, Willits' expectations for Quake IV, and how Willits believes that XBox gamers will react.

Tim: Getting back to a rich story that is compelling, straightforward, and that provides new challenges, those are some of our goals. You know, we want to create a game that doesn't get boring, and that sets up the action for your experience. Quake IV has military overtones. You're part of a much larger squad and military experience. We want you to feel like the forces of Earth are striking back at the Strogg on their planet. We're striving for as rich and compelling experience as possible. We want to delivery an action-packed adventure with a sci-fi setting as possible..

Never one to miss a good movie tie-in, Custer's Desktop for the week features the all-ages title LEGO Star Wars from Aspyr Media. The title is based directly off of the popular movie.

Here's a clip of what Brad had to say:

LEGO Star Wars from Aspyr Media won't be out for awhile, but I couldn't think of a better desktop to feature this week. Unless you've been living under a rock then you know that latest installment of Star Wars hits the theater this week. To honor this I decided to create this desktop. So, with the help of Aspyr Media and my cable modem I was able to create this selection.
The desktop features a cast of LEGO characters, as always, those interested in downloading will find multiple resolutions available at Custer's Desktops.

Colonel Wardynski Interviewed on America's Army
9:06 AM | Franklin Pride | Comment on this story

Gamespot.com has interviewed gaming consultant Colonel Wardynski on the US Army's first-person shooter game, America's Army: Q-Course. The interview talks of the differences between the government and public versions of the game and the many different spinoffs that the US Army will be producing for training purposes.

GS: What is your agenda at E3?

CW: E3 is a bunch of things for us. The two focus areas are, the licensed product, Rise of a Soldier, and Overmatch. Last year we talked about Overmatch and what it was going to be, and this year Overmatch will be at E3. It will actually be a big departure from America's Army in the past.

GS: What do you mean by that?

CW: America's Army has always been team-on-team, and force-on-force engagement. In Overmatch you will see the first application of AI in America's Army.
