Revealed: How Stubbs Treats His Women
12:30 PM | Conrad Quilty-Harper | Comment on this story
Increasing the anticipation surrounding Stubbs the Zombie in "Rebel Without a Pulse", fansite WideloadGames.org has posted a short three question interview with Wideload Games' Matt Soell. The site owner Gary Simmons felt that little or nothing had been said about the role that women play in the upcoming game. To this end he fired off an email to the Wideload employee and has since posted the interview.
Here's the short Q&A session:
tBC: Can you expand a little bit on the role of women in Stubbs the Zombie? Will there be women converted to zombies in Stubbs? To read WORG's commentary on women in Stubbs, follow the link below.
WORG: World's Shortest Interview
Matt: Sure. Being a futuristic sort of place, Punchbowl has embraced the notion of men and women living together in the same city.
tBC: Can you give us some more information on the love of Stubbs' unlife?
Matt: I think I'll just say Stubbs has good taste and leave it at that.
tBC: Suppose one of these Punchbowl women dies in water, will they float face-down or face-up and what scientific method did you use to determine this besides fiddling with a lot of breasts?
Matt: Are you implying there's another way?

Squads, Officers and Darwinians will no longer blunder into a radar dish unless you specifically click on it.

Age of Empires III Q&A
8:30 AM | Franklin Pride | Comment on this story
In a recent question and answer (Q&A) session with Greg Street, a few of the differences between the early Age of Empires games and the in-development Age of Empires III were discussed. New features include a MMO style "home city" where you put points from leveling up into various things as new ships, faster mining rates, and improving your Explorer. Above all the upgrades, though, is a spirit of fun.
We do want to make combat fun, perhaps more so than in any of our previous games. It's not as much fun when a cannon shoots a formation of pikemen, and all of them lose a few hit points and keep marching. It's fun when a cannon shoots a formation, and flattens them all. Our battles tend to have high casualties, but that fits expectations of the time period. This isn't a time of two knights duelling - it's a time when hundreds of infantry marched in a line towards a battery of artillery up on a hill. This upcoming release just keeps sounding better and better. To view the full Q&A, just dive through the link and read all about it.
There's no word yet as to whether a Mac version of Age of Empires III will be coming to the Mac, but given the fact that all the previous games from Ensemble have been ported to the Mac, there's a good chance it will. We'll be sure to keep you posted.

Custer Strategically Creates Another Desktop
8:28 AM | IMG News | Comment on this story
Our resident desktop artist brings another new creation this week. Titled "Military Machine," this desktop celebrates the award-winning: Spartan, a strategy game that has been well received by both Mac and PC gamers.
Here's a clip from Brad Custer on his latest desktop:
Since our review ten days ago of Spartan I've received a fair amount of interest in a desktop for the online game. Actually, before my move, I had several requests so I decided to finally honor them. I based it on the cover art featured on the box design. With the help of Freeverse and with some broadband access I was able to create this week's wallpaper. As always, those interested in downloading his creations can find them at Custer's Desktops. Don't forget to check out IMG's recent review of Spatan as well for more information on this title.
