Blizzard Seeking Mac Programmer

Mac programmers interested in entering the gaming industry may be interested in a position currently being offered by Blizzard. Titled "Macintosh Programmer," the position requires knowledge of C/C++ as well as familiarity with Mac APIs.

The full list of requirements is as follows:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Solid knowledge of C/C++, debugging, and code optimization
  • Detailed understanding of MacOS X API's and infrastructure
  • A passion for making great Mac game software
  • Good spoken and written communication skills
Plusses include experience using CodeWarrior, Xcode, and Altivec optimizations. Those interested in applying can find all the details at the job posting.

Dominions II Patch Released

Shrapnel Games has released a new version of their hit fantasy strategy title, Dominions II. The new version, 2.16, includes a number of fixes and new features.

Fishes with "Amulet of the Fish" can now retreat to land provinces.
Goto province also works on assassination messages.
The battlefield grid has been fixed.
Destroyed local enchantments sometimes still displayed.
The maximum number of mods has been increased to 100
New monster modding commands: #magicboost and #castledef.
Can now mod different looking GUIs for individual nations.
Shape changing god automatically begins at a low HP form.
#selectitem accepts numbers.
Assassination victims override a retreat order.
Improved error message if a mod needs to be installed to play on your turn.
