IMG Interviews UbiSoft's Geneviève Lord
11:34 AM | Tuncer Deniz | Comment on this story

Inside Mac Games has posted an interview with UbiSoft's Geneviève Lord. The interview discusses Myst IV Revelation, the latest game in the popular Myst franchise.

Here's a clip from the interview:

MP: To me, Myst IV felt more like the original than any other game in the series. Was this a specific design goal?

GL: Yes it was. When we started the production of Myst IV Revelation, we obviously wanted to add our original touch to the saga and offer to the players the best experience they could find in any "Myst game". But we also really wanted to stay true to the "Myst license". So we analyzed carefully the 3 previous games of the series to determine what were the most successful elements of each game.

Our conclusion was that the atmosphere of the original Myst game was certainly one of the key factors that made that game so fantastic. We hope that every player will feel again that atmospheric immersion in our game.

America's Army Update Delayed
9:18 AM | Eddie Park | Comment on this story

In another bit of icculus news, Gordon reports that the Mac build of America's Army 2.2.1 is currently seeing a delay. This is due to the license for use of GameSpy's SDK being no longer valid, which Gordon notes can be a problem for a multiplayer game.

The Mac build is suffering from a serious problem...we don't have a license to use GameSpy's SDK on the Mac anymore, for reasons I won't get into here. For a purely-multiplayer game, this complicates things, to say the least. There are some minor contingency plans in place, but this means more delays. I know you all love waiting, sorry about this.
IMG will keep tabs on the situation, and update readers with any news we get.

Fixed Berserk combo (properly turns client side weapon changes on and off)

- Fixed gamespeed mutator "sticking" in instant action games
- Don't let Cicada passengers carry flag (for VCTF)
- Added OnslaughtBP.UCL to patch so bonus pack mutators will show up
- Fixed problem with landing view shake sometimes not working at very low frame rates
