New iBooks Roll With Marble Blast & Nanosaur 2
8:36 AM | Eddie Park | Comment on this story

As with the new iMacs released last month, GarageGames notes that the recently-upgraded iBooks will now be shipping with a copy of Marble Blast Gold. In addition, Pangea's Software's dinosaur-piloting shooter Nanosaur 2: Hatchling will also be bundled with each new iBook.

The addictive arcade action marble rolling game that challenges players of all ages to race their marbles through moving platforms, dangerous hazards and sparkling treasures to power up and complete each course in record time has found a new home on every new iBook G4. Like the other newly released Apple computer, the iMac G5, the newly redesigned iBook G4 will have Marble Blast Gold bundled with every single laptop.
As always, it's nice to see Apple showing support for the gaming aspect of the industry, and both titles chosen for bundling have solid reputations.

Ubisoft Hosts New Throne Of Oblivion Preview
8:36 AM | Eddie Park | Comment on this story

Ubisoft has recently posted a new feature at the official Shadowbane site that contains a wealth of information on the Throne of Oblivion the next upcoming expansion pack for the MMORPG. Of particular focus in the feature is the legacy of the vampire, a new race that will be introduced in the expansion.

The description of vampires in SB notes that they carry both great strengths and weaknesses. While they are unnaturally strong and tough, they cannot heal or sustain themselves save by means of drinking blood. Each one of their powers also consumes their own health, forcing them to constantly feed on others.

Also discussed are two new classes, including the Necromancer and the Nightstalker:

The Nightstalker class is ideally suited to players who enjoy sneaking around the edges of battlefields, picking off vampires who think their fortitude makes them untouchable.
Other topics touched upon are the various vampire bloodlines and new regions contained within the Obvlivion.

The Fool And His Money Coming In December
6:00 AM | Jean-Luc Dinsdale | Comment on this story

Further to yesterday's news item regarding the upcoming release of his new metapuzzle, independent game developer Cliff Johnson has contacted the IMG News Staff with further news regarding his current project, the long-awaited sequel The Fool And His Money.

According to Cliff, the current projected completion date for the new title has been pushed till December of this year; December 6th, to be exact, judging by the completion countdown clock on his web page.

The Fool And His Money picks up where the 1987 "metapuzzle" computer game The Fool's Errand left off. Players must lead the game's protagonist through the over forty hours of puzzles, word games, riddles, and numerous other brain teasers that make up the game. The sequel will feature gameplay similar in style to the original title, but will showcase more elaborate puzzles and a deeper and richer environment than fans of the original game are used to.

Despite the game's numerous delays, the game developer's rabid fan base are standing behind the solo programmer, and are offering unconditional support to his latest effort. In his email to IMG, Cliff writes:

What has been and continues to be both thrilling and heartwarming is the tremendous outpouring of love and affection for The Fool's Errand (and 3 in Three) from True Believers all over the world, confirming what I've always suspected... that folks from all walks of life enjoy the game. To borrow the retired Mac slogan, "a game for the rest of us."
With the completion of the game right around the corner, players wanting to get their hands on the new, Mac/PC hybrid puzzle game, should head over to Cliff's website, where pre-orders for the new title are available for $39.99 USD. While there, gamers interested in checking out Cliff's previous Macintosh titles can download The Fool's Errand, At The Carnival and 3 In Three for free from his website. The Classic-friendly titles are available through the links below.

Keep checking in with IMG over the next few weeks as we'll be bringing you further news on this long-awaited title as it approaches completion.

Men Of Valor Preview Deployed
6:00 AM | Jean-Luc Dinsdale | Comment on this story

Less than a week before the PC version of the game hits store shelves, gaming supermarket IGN has posted a new preview for game developers 2015's upcoming, Vietnam-based first person shooter Men Of Valor.

The new title follows the exploits of Marine Dean Shepard and his squad through the early years of the Vietnam conflict. The new title features the type of realistic, in-your-face gameplay action expected from the creators of the Medal Of Honour franchise:

You're not really expecting anything to happen since you figure Charlie has most likely fallen back into hiding. Of course, that isn't the case. A cow on the road halts your little convoy so it can be ambushed. The VC are in a field on one side of the road, and in the trees beyond. You have to fight your way through both these areas before continuing on through forest and hillside areas to locate and capture a site from which the enemy has been launching some of its rocket attacks. Along the way, you encounter resistance in a number of spots, and learn that you have to watch out for booby traps.
The realistic historical shooter features thirteen separate missions spanning four authentic operation theaters, supports multiplayer online campaigns for up to 24 players, and features authentic details from the era, from player's weapons to the game's Vietnam-era rock & roll soundtrack.

While the game has momentarily disappeared from Aspyr Media's project status page, the busy Mac publishers are expecting to deploy the new title to store shelves for the Holiday season. Readers anxious to get their hands on the new title should head over to the IMG Store, where pre-orders of the new title are available for $48.95 USD -
