IMG Previews Black Hawk Down
12:25 PM | Tuncer Deniz | Comment on this story
IMG has posted a hands-on preview of Aspyr's upcoming action game, Delta Force: Black Hawk Down based on a recent beta. Here's a clip from the preview:
First things first. The main incident the game is based on really happened. It’s fascinating history. There’s an amazing book written about the incident, and the book was even turned into a movie by Ridley Scott. But other than being based on the same incident, the game has nothing to do with the book or film. There are no tie-ins, no big name actors, no movie clips. Just lots and lots of action. In fact, the events in the game’s storyline start months before the incident when the two Black Hawk helicopters were shot down. You arrive as part of a peacekeeping force intent on delivering supplies to refugees, and the carnage doesn’t end for another 15 missions, some of them factually based, others purely fictitious. (There are strong rumors of a secret 16th mission if you make it through the rest of the game.)To check out the entire preview, please follow the link below.

Custer's Confidential Creation
8:03 AM | IMG News | Comment on this story
IMG's Brad Custer has updated his desktop section again today with another creation for fans of the upcoming stylistic shooter, XIII. Here's a snippet of what he had to say:
It's obvious with the pending release of XIII from Feral Intactive looming on the horizon that it's a hot topic. Just look at the email in my box if you don't believe me. Personally, I've been resisting the urge to buy it for my Playstation 2, but each week it gets a little harder to do. However, filling the request for another desktop for this title has helped. Somewhat. ;) In this week's offering I wanted create a scene like you might see in an actual comic book. So, with the help of Feral Interactive, I was able to create this wallpaper. I simply entitled it, "Last Moments", because you don't have long to live with a gun that's just been fired staring you in the face. ;) I hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it. :)To download the desktop, head over to the Custer's Desktop section with the help of the link provided below. There you can preview the desktop and download it in the resolution of your choice.
Freeverse Mother's Day Sale
8:03 AM | Eddie Park | Comment on this story
In the U.S., Mother's Day is just around the corner. Being the nice folks that they are, the Freeverse crew are offering what they have dubbed their "Mother's Day Guilt-Shelter Sale." Several games have been discounted by $5, including 3D Spades Deluxe, 3D Bridge Deluxe, and X-Words Deluxe.
"Let's face it, a lot of us spend a lot of times playing computer games and getting mother-induced guilt for being recluses," said Dan Dickinson, Freeverse CTO. "What better way to bridge this parent-child digital divide with your Mom than by playing a network game? Our quick market research shows that most mothers don't enjoy World War 2 first person shooters, but many enjoy a good game of cards or crosswords."While the sale does provide the opportunity to get that perfect gift for one's mother, we suspect Freeverse wouldn't mind if buyers were to throw in a little something for themselves as well. Those looking to place an order can do so at Freeverse's online store.
