Worms 3D Goes GM, Demo Released
6:27 AM | Tuncer Deniz | Comment on this story

Feral Interactive today announced that Worms 3D has gone golden master and is expected to be released at the end of this month on DVD. The company has also released a 208 MB demo of the game and is available for download through Macgamefiles.com and through Hot Downloads for IMG Pro users.

Here's a description of the game:

Worms is a turn-based strategy game where teams of worms battle across bizarre randomly generated landscapes, or across finely crafted custom designed levels. Each team takes it in turns to pick off the opposing teams using crazy weapons, tools and other utilities they may have discovered and whatever foul strategies they can conjure. Worms die when they lose all of their energy or plunge into the icy depths of the water surrounding the levels. The winning team is the one that manages to survive the mayhem and have worms left standing when the dust settles. Players have a set time in which to make their move before the game automatically switches to the next team. During your turn, you can select which worm to use and either let it’s arsenal loose on the enemy or move the worm to a safer position.
Worms 3D for the Macintosh includes some Mac specific exclusives including better graphics in the interface and higher resolution weapons. The game also includes GameRanger support for online play.

To download the demo, head over to Macgamefiles.com. If you are an IMG Pro user, please use your Hot Downloads page to download the demo.

The Worms 3D demo will also be included in the upcoming first issue of the MacGames DVD Subscription. The first DVD is expected to ship sometime next week. If you haven't subscribed yet, follow the link below for more information.

Exhibit Fair Returns To WWDC 2004
12:01 PM | Tuncer Deniz | Comment on this story

The WWDC Exhibit Fair is returning to this year's Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), which this year is being held at the Moscone West Convention Center in San Francisco from June 28 - July 2, 2004. The Exhibit Fair is designed for vendors to showcase their newest technologies and services to the thousands of Mac OS X developers who attend this annual event.

Apple's Worldwide Developer Relations senior management team will be on hand at the Exhibit Fair Monday, following the 'grand opening' between 6-8 p.m. to meet with exhibitors and welcome attendees. This is the perfect opportunity to get to know these influential developer advocates within Apple and to educate them about your innovative Mac products

Companies interested in exhibiting this year can take advantage of the Turnkey Station Package (US$2,495), which consists of a Custom Station Property (approximately 6 ft wide x 8 ft high), Station ID Signage (one company name header), Stool, Electric, Internet Connection (one IP Address), Guide Listing, Perimeter Security, and Drayage. Each station package will also include three exhibitor badges (exhibit only, no meals and no sessions) and one full (non-transferrable) conference pass. Contact Xplain Custom Services at (805) 494-9797 x10 or reservations@xplain.com to reserve your spot.

IMG Posts Unreal Tournament 2004 Review, Sound Tutorial
8:19 AM | Tuncer Deniz | Comment on this story

Inside Mac Games has posted a review of Unreal Tournament 2004, the latest incarnation in the popular first-person shooter from MacSoft. Here's a clip from the review:

To drop an overused cliche: it's a whole new ball game. Unreal Tournament 2004 finally realizes its place in the genre, and feels like a sports game. Admittedly, you are still running around gorgeous maps, stealing flags, shooting the enemy and generally blowing up everything in sight - but a new team management scheme adds a nice dimension to the experience.
IMG has also posted a surround sound tutorial for those who would like to play Unreal Tournament 2004 in true surround sound. To check out both articles, please follow the link below.

Unreal Tournament 2004 is available through the IMG Store. To place your order, please follow the link below.
