Pangea Working On Nanosaur 2 11:14 AM | Tuncer Deniz | Comment on this story
In an impromptu interview, Pangea's Brian Greenstone let IMG know that his latest project will be a sequel of the incredibly popular dinosaur fighting game, Nanosaur. Nanosaur 2 will be coming to a Mac near you, nearly five years after the release of the original game. The game is currently scheduled to be released in early 2004. Greenstone promises that Nanosaur 2 will be "much larger than Nanosaur 1. This game will have both an action-adventure mode, and 2-player battle modes. The game is basically going to be a flying game where you're a pteradactyl Nanosaur with lots of awesome weaponry." Greenstone also said that this will be Pangea first game to be done as a Mach-o application and not an old CFM application. "What that basically means is that it is truly a Mac OS X application and it makes use of certain OS X technologies which were difficult to use from CFM. The game will require 10.2.6 or later." Pangea began development on Nanosaur 2 roughly two months ago. The company plans on releasing a downloadable version and a boxed CD version though no pricing has been set yet. As more details emerge, we'll be sure to keep you informed.

Shadowbane Price Drop, New World Map 9:33 AM | Andy Largent | Comment on this story
Some recent news for those interested in the Massively Multiplayer Online Role-playing Game (MMORPG) Shadowbane includes the fact that the game's price point has dropped down to $20. This should be a good nudge for those previously only hindered by its entry fee to give the title a try. Also of note for those players already in the world of Shadowbane is that a new world map implementation is just about to hit internal testing, which means the worlds "Scorn" and "Treachery" will soon disappear forever. They've posted a short Q&A list to answer some of common inquiries about the change. Here's an important bit for players of those two servers: So will migrating characters from Scorn and Treachery move with all their gold, items, and deeds? Unfortunately no. Only the items the character has equipped can cross the interstellar boundaries between worlds. So basically – only what they have on their backs. Banks and Inventories will not make the migration so equip your character wisely before the sun sets on Treachery and Scorn for the last time. The ETA for taking down the two servers is sometime in the next three weeks. Check out the Q&A and accompanying forum threads for much more discussion on the topic.

Aspyr Q&A at GameDaily 6:21 AM | Galen Wiley | Comment on this story
GameDaily recently got the chance to hold an interview with Aspyr Media's executive vice president of publishing, Ted Staloch, and have been kind enough to post a transcript on their website for your reading pleasure. The Q&A session of sorts gives readers a look at the company's history, how they go by doing their job, and much more. Here's an excerpt from the article: Apple owners always seem to be bellyaching about the lag in time between the release of a PC product and the release of its Mac brethren, a situation we asked Staloch about. He replied that the difference in release dates usually stems, not from conversions, but from the amount of time it takes Aspyr and its developers to get source code. "Medal of Honor, for instance, is an 18-24 month project for the PC. We don't get the code on week two; we get the code typically around beta. Once we get the source, do the evaluations, put together a timeline…by the time we typically start a project, it has almost shipped (on the PC side)." Be sure to read the interview at the link below for more information.
