ive seen alien vs. predator. it was horrible. this has been one of the most anticipated movies for the past ten years and that f***ing idiot paul w. s. anderson ruined it for everyone.
just like resident evil. i'm a huge resident evil and alien and predator fan and he blew it. screw you paul!

Com on now. lets face it, Paul Ws Anderson, (the director of resident evil and mortal kombat), this moive is directly aimed to the younger viewers, which means im leaning towards more a resident evil+mortal kombat type movie then a real alien or predator movie, If Fox wanted to get the hype out about this movie, they should of kept a lid on the director, or casted james cameron or John Mcterian. I have a feeling that this movie will be a total discrase to the movie franchise. I mean the moive sounds cool,(even though the previous movies specificly said the pred's go to warm enviorments,) but you all have to admit that something is off with the whole paul ws anderson. Plus you got Tom Woodruff leading special effects, come on now. Tom does spiderman and hell boy. THis is going to be a younger generation kid movie, They should of dropped another few million and signed on James Cameron and Stan Wiston for effects. If that was the case, There would be no doubt in my mind that this movie will not be a blockbuster. But as it stands, I think this is going to have some cool fight seens, but a ridiculous plot.....Ive really got my fingers crossed. Look at terminator 3, Man i waited 13 years to see that movie, and what a ship wreck, that movie was a complete joke. THey better hook this one up, or paul will be really considering trying to make a remake of mortal kombat mini series.......For network tv......

aliens and alien ressurection was the two best alien movies. the third was the worst. it didn't have an good story.
i can't beleive that some peoples think that the 4th alien movie was bad. it was awful thanks to the special effects.

The first predator movie was kick ass but the second needed soe polishing. The Aliens series was the bomb, but the thrid and fourth seemed to get very boring. N e ways i have noticed that the problem with the new science fiction movies is the duration of the movies. The movies such as resident evil and aliens resurrection are just to short, more time and length should be put into the movies so that all aspects can be explored.

predator 1,alien and aliens are the greatest out of the two series .James cameron is the only man i trust to under take such a project.....paul may have dun a great job on event horizon...but resident evil and mortal kombat were awfull game2film translations.theres a feel and style to the alien movies that wos lost in the 3rd and 4th ....i doubth it can be revived unless the right people can do it.As for predator i wasnt as dissapointed with the 2nd one as i was with the last 2 alien movies,but then again the first one is unbeatable.Ireally hop this is done well caus it is such and excellent concept...let us all hope.

Alien 3 and 4 had there problem but all in all i think they were good, dont get me wrong they need a lot of work to mach Alien and Aliens. as for the AvP movie it has potental, but i heard it was a group of sientists( modern day)that find a hive and get traped between the battel between alien and pred. but hell what do i know if this is the case i realy dont know it could be realy good or be a BOMB i dont know, but please look at the good sides of aliens 3 and 4

The AVP comic book series was released in limited run by Dark Horse comics back in 1991 if I remember correctly. I have all four of the original set.

Many developers have successfully created games from movies such as LOTR, the ongoing movie has followed with its games. Now going from games to movies, your basically creating a movie from scratch with some basic facts of the who's, where's, why's and when's.
Resident Evils Director, in my opinion he pulled it off quite well with a good selection of cast.
Lets hope he does it again, but without a doubt i have put my faith in him.

Both of those movies were filled with action, great special effects, and different storylines.

Perhaps you didn't like them because they didn't follow the comic books, but how often has a novel ever been completely and correctly translated to the silver screen?

Im sorry to say Sol really doesnt have to explain himself...Alien3 was pretty bad and Resurection was just plain terrible/waste of money. As for AVP I just wish they had stuck with the Darkhorse Comic plot rather than whatever this Mayan/Aztec stuff is ... oh well hope its good but god knows we really shouldnt get our hopes up.

I only wanna see Primal Hunt once the normal game plays.

Sol... you need to be MUCH more specific. Why do you think the last two ALIEN films were so bad that nothing worse could be made. Please present your evidence.

If the movie is supposed to come out in August 2004 then the game of the movie should have been well under way in order to make the same deadline. Who knows, maybe some developer is out there programming away but without any news or rumours in the games press, I doubt it.

Having said that, I am glad that a new Aliens movie is being made. After the last two films there is no way that a worse job could be made of it, even if the director of Resident Evil is involved.

As for the AVP 2 game on the Mac, MacPlay should at least let everyone know that an update is in the pipeline. The framerates could be a lot better, especially when flares are dropped. The audio also has a habit of dropping out during some games.

I must admit, seeing that featurette did give me some kind of confidence in Paul W.S. Andersson's ability to pull this project off. I still much would've preferred them basing the movie on the first comic/book though which is nothing short of excellent...

Actually, I think the whole AvP thing started from the brief scene in Predator 2, when you see the skull of an Alien mounted with the Predator's other trophies. Then the comic books....then the games....and now back to the movies....

I could be wrong though.

When is MacPlay going to fix the framerate
issue. I mean one Alien drops the framerate to like 5fps and thats with a Geforce ti 4600.

This is not a case of "art imitating games" i.e. Mortal Kombat. The comic books were out far before the games were.
