Were there ever real witches? http://getfreegames.250free.com/

ToB Problems, anyone?
MATeO December 16 - 3:44 PM

Anyone else having probs getting TOB to work well in 10.3?

Throne of Bhaal
NorEast Minn November 27 - 9:38 PM

My brother and I have been totally captured by BGII, this makes it a perfect.

Quality of BG ports...
Bernard October 29 - 10:31 PM

BGI was done by GraphSim and it was...subpar, to say the least. Playable, but many, many unexpected crashes.

BGII was done by MacPlay and was relatively well done. An occasional crash, but very playable. I look forward to more of the same with ToB.

Re: Requires BGII
the_squid October 29 - 2:57 PM

It's an updated app for sure. It supports both SoA and ToB (i.e. not just a bunch of new art assets for the expansion).

Requires BGII
Pig Pie Man October 29 - 2:28 PM

It states that it requires BGII, but can we hope that it uses an updated application? If it uses the original BGII code, we should probably just give up on getting it to work well and just move on to something else. I sure won't be pre-ordering considering the lame Mac ports of the BG/IWD series to date...

*shrug*
Mack October 29 - 12:59 PM

I was never able to get through SoA. I'd get most of the way through the game and it would lock up. I contacted tech support several times and, beyond telling me to reinstall, I got no help.

very disappointing.

wow...
rod October 29 - 11:00 AM

... I guess I'll need to replay BG2...

well, well
Jadefang October 29 - 4:18 AM

Well looks like I bought that PC for nothing, then. Still an interesting decision considering their earlier statements on the matter. Good for you guys!

Yaay
Nick October 29 - 3:49 AM

Horay, I'm preordering it! Still got all my BGII characters saved! Maybe they will port Icewind Dale: Heart of Winter and Icewind Dale 2 too (though not likely, I know).

HOORAH!!!!!
Mr. Pie October 29 - 12:01 AM

YEEHAAHHH!!
Now i don't have to get VPC to play it. :D :D :D

Brad October 28 - 10:47 PM

Wasn't there an interview with MacPlay conduct by IMG where they said they decided not to bring ToB to the Mac because the "window of opportunity has passed"?

I guess that must have been said to get us BG fans off of their backs or something.

Wow.
Mr.PreacherMan October 28 - 9:24 PM

Very pleasantly surprised that they are putting this out. I had actually given up hope, but it's always nice to be proven wrong.

Kudos to MacPlay for paying attention to the fan base.

:D
Afellminator October 28 - 9:20 PM

I mean its like the entire BGII is a big set up to TOB. Just as you get so powerful and get all these cool spells in BGII, the game ends, and you don't get the chance to use them..and then omg the tag movie at the end with the evil dudes around the table that looks awfully similar to the one down under the docks...MY GOD THIS GAME SCREAMED 'BUY THE EXPANSION NOW!' Well...now being a few years later, I suppose its still a good thing (yes!)

Woohooo!
Jonathan Hersh October 28 - 8:41 PM

Thank god! Baldur's Gate II is definitely my favorite computer game of *all* time. It's about time they finally ported this over to the mac, so I can finally enjoy it!

woah
garymm October 28 - 8:29 PM

Wow, that's really amazing. Maybe sales of BG2 picked up after the BG one conversion mod came out.

WTH?
Flex October 28 - 8:02 PM

OMMFG, why? Why now? What took them so long to decide to port it?!

And why, o why, must they announce the port the day AFTER i finally get tired of playing BG2 for the 3rd time and delete it...

tobbe October 28 - 7:22 PM

yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YESSSS!!!
UniAce October 28 - 5:50 PM

I can barely believe it!
Totally awesome!

Thad October 28 - 5:43 PM

So damn awesome! I thought this was a lost cause, like Half-Life!

Thank you
Nonsiaga October 28 - 4:42 PM

I been seeing this title on CompUSA's website for many months and am glad that MacPlay finally is getting it ready on the Mac. I can't wait to have another RPG on the Mac, even if it is just an expansion pack. Whoot :)
