Does it still run at the speed of a traffic jam, or does the update provide any tangible performance boosts (openAL lib aside)? |

1. It's free.
2. Most of the Beta testers downloaded at least 3, up to 5 files this size, for EACH machine we tested.
3. There are some significant revisions between 1.7 and 1.9 -- mainly to set up for the upgrades rumored for 2.0 (some of which are accessible in the console in 1.9.)
4. It's safer for you -- if you screw-up in replacing (or not replacing) all of the correct files in the correct places within the Application package, you could get banned by the U.S. Army for "cheating."
5. Few people complain about downloading STOLEN games of similar size, from servers that transmit at significantly slower rates.
As it is, the 1.9 port turned out well. Thank all the devs, but especially Ryan Gordon. |

Why no update? Surely not ALL of the data files are new. Even if it was just a big folder full of files and a readme I would be a lot happier then to have to download all 500mB. |
