what about PC
dv8 August 13 - 6:20 PM

So if it comes out for mac will it also come out for PC?

Who Can You Trust?
Matt Soell August 12 - 2:20 PM

A. I don't do tech support now. These days my function is mostly community-development stuff. I'm working a lot closer to Jason and the Halo team than the guys who write eNews, that's for sure.

B. Apple eNews, to the best of my knowledge, is not written by "the word of a Microsoft exec in charge of games development." It's written by some Apple PR type. The QT stream of the keynote is still on Apple's site, and if you watch it and see anyone - executive in charge of games at Microsoft or otherwise - announce that Halo will ship SIMULTANEOUSLY with the Mac version, I'll eat my hat. We don't know that yet and wouldn't feel comfortable announcing it.

C. This is not a matter of differing viewpoints. There is a right answer and a wrong answer. The person who wrote that article for eNews got confused and made an incorrect statement. Mistakes happen, life goes on, etc.

Just clearing the air, as it were....

-Matt

Im starting to get bored with HALO
Ceaser Miranda, Jr. August 11 - 8:22 PM

When HALO was first announced, way back when, I was excited, especially since I was relay getting into games like Quake III and Unreal Tournament.

Now I'm bored with these games. The graphics and the sounds are wearing thin. Even on Voodoo 5 5500 cards.

Maybe it's just me but I think that if Bungie waits too long too put out HALO, guys like me are going to move onto other types of games.

One another note. I don't like Bungie working with Microsoft. I may pass on this game based on that alone. I don't want Bungie to set a precedent which other gaming companies may follow. I know that as a Mac user I have to see the good games will bring to the platform but I feel that I have to draw the line somewhere.

Both Sides
Michael Eilers August 11 - 3:20 PM

Matt Soell certainly works for Bungie, but he's not the final word on what happens with Halo. We have noted his comments in another aricle.

There are two conflicting points of view here -- the word of a Microsoft exec in charge of games development, and the word of a tech support member for Bungie Studios. It is far too early and there is too little evidence to rule out one viewpoint or the other, so we presented both. We assume our readers are intelligent enough to read both opinions and decide for themselves.

PR machine

Might want to revise the story... Matt Soell of Bungie has responded to Apple's little letter over at the forums on halo.bungie.org and rampancy.net.

Suspicious

Hmmm, I never heard anything like this at the keynote, nor in ANY of the reporting from the show.. so exactly where did you come by this tidbit?

And even if it comes from a reputable source, I just can't believe it.
