Engine Plans
Michael Eilers August 07 - 2:42 PM

Supposedly, Carmack has already moved on to a next-generation engine; it may be as big as a step as there was between Quake 2 and Quake 3. As this game will be coming out when many of the hot technologies on the graphics card front (4 textures per pass, transform and lighting, 3D textures, geometry morphing) will be reaching second generation, it is safe to assume the Doom 3 engine will take advantage of these features.

Is he writing a whole new engine for D3 or is it going to be the Q3 engine, but tweaked? Kinda like UT was to Unreal...
