I see no point in enforcing these laws...

A kid can't rent a M-rated game till he's 17, but at 18 he can go blow someone's head off in Iraq. They need to rethink their rating system.

But i guess if you wanna stop 10 year old joe from renting Playboy Mansion of Bloodrayne then yah.

...it is the retailers that would be punished, not the makers of the game. In a sense, retailers will have to card kids like they do for cigarettes and alcohol. I didn't gather anything that attacks the actual game companies with some form of legal punishment.

What if games were treated the same as movies?

Wait, too simple :)

Why are WE not the judge?
Kevin April 22 - 12:53 PM

Why does this stuff continue to happen? :/ We have labels clear as day on games. We as consumers should be the judge of what we find acceptable. A dollar vote is the only thing that will affect change in a corporate world. IF the kid is underage card them like they do cigarettes, but dont force the game makers to not create things. Leave it up to the consumer. Parents need to take responsibility for their kids not the d*mn governement bills. Geez.

silly stuff

There are a lot of loopholes there. Any game that can't prove some artistic integrity sucks anyhow. So even if a game is crazy violent and not for kids, it can be sold to kids if it's art? pretty funny. it's all silly. This is the job of a parent. Parents I know with video game playing kids do a great job of only buying appropriate games.

I would definately like to see how these penalties will be enforced.

/* Thinking "Walmart going down for selling games to kids." */
