zoinks March 30 - 4:51 PM

newbie guide here
http://www.rtscentral.com/sav_newbguide_startup.asp

i don't quite 'get it' yet, but seems fun
a touch like Myth, Warcraft and Warrior Kings with a healthy dose of UT2k4 (if u call that healthy)

Anything that 'puts' stuff on your computer requires an admin password. Requiring a password is one of the key security features of the MacOS that makes it more secure than Windows (so a virus couldn't install stuff without asking for a password). Some games/ apps install by asking you to "drag and drop this application where you want it" - not requiring your password because it is your installing it by hand. Hope this helps. -MM

great game
dan March 28 - 8:02 AM

instantly hooked
thanks VPL!

Why?
DocB March 28 - 6:29 AM

Can anybody tell me why this puppy needs a admin password to install? Mybe I'm just parinoid but I can see no reason a demo or any game for that matter should ask for an admin password. Would be more likely to install this if there was an explaanation in the ReadMe. Till then not on my machine.

Cool Game
Munchmasta March 27 - 2:05 PM

I played the demo for hours yesterday, I am amazed at how GOOD the graphics look on our eMac 1.25 with Radeon 9200. Not only can I play smoothly on medium detail (which looks great) but I was hosting games with over 8 players all night. Cool Game!

Great game nj.

What OS is required?
Sol March 26 - 7:52 PM

Is this demo compatible with OS X 10.2.8?

Leif March 26 - 2:55 PM

have to download the whole thing AGAIN? why not just add a small fix? ah well, doesn't bother me really. Luckily, I don't have a bandwidth cap...

New demo 1.01
VPLtd March 26 - 12:38 PM

The updated demo to fix OpenGL problems is now online. If anyone still has problems, please email support@vpltd.com.

Please make sure you are running the 1.01 version, 2.00e.1 in 'Get info'

Thanks.

Problems on OpenGL
VPLtd March 26 - 7:55 AM

We have a fix now for the OpenGL problem...
The demo will be updated later today.

Thanks.

Demo won't run
Acketh March 26 - 7:38 AM

The demo won't run on my machine - the screen dims to black, then I get sent back to the finder.

Quicksilver 933, GeForce4 MX, OS X 10.3.8

R.Trost March 26 - 3:24 AM

Hmmm, the game says my GeForce2MX isn't compatible with OpenGL 1.2. It doesn't start....

Mangaman March 26 - 12:33 AM

368 MB for the full version

Wha?
Turtle March 25 - 9:36 PM

So I spent 40 mins downloading this? I'm sorry to say that this has to be the worst RTS i've ever come across.

Map editor!
Nagromme March 25 - 8:31 PM

That's great news.

Size
ΔNAG March 25 - 1:55 PM

That is the demo. The full version is larger.

re: big download?
ΔMacProject March 25 - 12:12 PM

233.3 MB, according to macgamefiles

big download ?
dfef March 25 - 12:07 PM

Anybody knows hwo big is the download if I buy the game… because I will not download 500…600…700 MB or more with my "little" dsl connection… ?

王將軍 March 25 - 11:53 AM

This game sounds interesting. I'm almost done with the download :) Speaking of which, what kind of ISP restricts their users' monthly download bandwidth!? That's just... inhumane!

skully25 March 25 - 10:29 AM

when you have a 10 gig a month download limit that's a pretty big piece you lose over a simple demo :s

Javier March 25 - 10:07 AM

Mad props to Virtual Programming!

PC-Mac
VPLtd March 25 - 9:50 AM

The game is PC-Mac compatible. We also include the map editor as well, although this is undocumented and is supported on the S2 forums.

happywhoosit March 25 - 9:03 AM

Since S2 (the makers of PC/Linux versions) announced they are no longer offering tech support to the game, will this be PC-Mac or Mac-Mac only? Mod makers had to make files to fix the game and also to make a better server finder than the one S2 made.

Destroth March 25 - 8:32 AM

Wait till you play this, you will know the meaning of campers. Still its good that this game finally made it to the Mac, on private servers it could really be a cool game.

Cool
Dark uk March 25 - 7:25 AM

First I've heard of this game and it looks pretty cool!
