If the game was more about exploring those stunningly beautiful landscapes and going on real adventures, and less about having to put in hour after hour grinding away at an infinite supply of monsters and errand-boy quests to level up, I might be more interested. They've crafted about as beautiful a MMORPG as I can imagine, but it still suffers from the genre's drawbacks: tedius repetition, the need for a massive investment of time, and no real sense of accomplishment other than from pumping stats, since that monster you just worked really hard to kill will invariably respawn after a few minutes.
It could be that PVP makes it all worthwhile, but as with Shadowbane, I simply don't have the time to put into finding out. |

I was doing the Open Beta too, but I wasn't able to log in that night. Could you post your screenshots somewhere? |

Shortly before the Beta closed down on Thursday night, Blizzard was spawning all kinds of high-level monsters in the major cities. I grabbed some screenshots where I could, but I missed Oxnyia, who I heard was in Stormwind stomping on Alliance characters. There were bodies everywhere, but apparently some groups of high-level characters were able to knock out a few of the baddies before succumbing too. |
