Any additional recommendation on a city building game?

Thanks,

Hi Ori,

I too would love a good city building game for the current mac. I loved the original Sim City and Sim City 2000, I bought Sim City 4, but it was too heavy to run well on my G4 when I bought it. I was all excited to try it again on my new intel Imac, but was again dissapointed to find out it didn't run well on intel. Biggest waste of money I ever spent.

The best alternative to Sim City that I can recommend at the moment is Tropico. I bought the Tropico: Mucho Macho edition for my G4 several years ago, and it still runs great on my intel Imac. Its like Sim city where you get to play the dictator of a small island in the caribbean. It has great music and sound design. Unfortunately, its not still being sold though you can still find it on Amazon marketplace. Tropico II is still being sold, but I haven't played it. Its Pirate themed, and that didn't appeal to me as much.

You can find reviews of both Tropicos on IMG.

If anyone else knows of a good city building game I'd love to hear of it as well.

You might search for Lincity or City of Rauma. I think there are Mac versions of both of these now.

There was also the old Ceasar (I/II/III) game if you can find it although I doubt it runs on any modern systems.

There's a shareware game called Hydrothermal. I haven't played it, but I heard it's a city building game.
