I technically finished this game a month ago but I'm procrastinating so:

Spec Ops the Line is outrageously good -- it might only work for gamers who are acquainted with the tropes of military shooter games but if you are, this is an instant classic. The actual gameplay mechanics are bland but all I can say without spoiling anything is that there are huge payoffs for soldiering through to the end. It's a major emotional experience.

Put it on your wishlist!

Ending really messed with my head, impacted me more than I ever thought a game could. That and Fullmetal Alchemist have really shaped my feelings on war.

But I thought the Mac gaming market was so miniscule that the only Mac gamers on the planet were in here?

Trying not to get political, but its very bad that FCC chairman Ajit Pai is trying to take our internet freedom and rights away and might succeed. The FCC is doing a lot of underhanded tactics and ignoring their own rules.

Im with you on this one Ballmer!

I think this is an issue where politics can go to the sideline. This affects everyone, and if this goes through (which it probably will) it'll affect everyone in a negative way.

EDIT: So yes, I'm with Ballmer! That's probably the only time I'll ever say that.

Did they announce the game is close to release publicly or just on the forums? I thought that the tweet was their public announcement.

I agree with that, but I would say you massively overestimate these costs and the distributors massively exaggerate them. Remember Evolve? That game is actually alive with its servers still running. If it's really so bloody expensive to keep up the servers, were does that money come from? The 400 people still playing that game must buy really a lot of microtransactions. And the remaining 100 players of Battleborn must all be massive whales.

This is sort of my main point about this whole shebang. This idea that microtransactions are necessary to support a game is something straight out of an executive meeting where they decided they needed all the money in the world instead of just a frak load. It's deception, and it's not like that's a new thing or that gaming is the only field in which this sort of deception occurs.
