Not sure if this has been asked already, but hasn't anyone figured out how to get battlefield 1 to work with vulkan in Wineskin. IRC, Wine 2.0 is suppose to fully support vulkan in the linux mint or steamOS world, so I'd like to know if anyone using unix destros has had any luck getting that game to work.

As far as I can see that, Wine only supports Vulkan in games that actually use Vulkan (like DOOM). Since Battlefield 1 does not, this wouldn't work. Vulkan isn't supported under macOS anyway, so Wineskin wouldn't be able to use it.

Totally thought this was going to be an epic drunk gaming thread.

When there's a multiplayer version, I'm going to be on Frost's team. Well, except he doesn't seem to actually need a team...I mean, what's the point? "Hey look, it's Frost and His Merry Gang of Useless Hangers-On!" Or something.

So people have tried to make wrappers of battlefield 1 and failed? Or is even open GL on unix destros not enough for even a directX11 game like that?

DirectX 11 is apparently not the problem (at least under Linux – under macOS with its sorry excuse of an OpenGL implementation it could be a different story): recent versions of Wine run (at least some) DX11 games fine. But BF1 uses Denuvo, which appears to completely prevent it to run under Wine.
