Scrape this into whatever you call a calendar, kiddies! Mad Max is set to release on October 20th from arguably the porting house favorite, Feral Interactive. Now you've got fair enough warning, when you decide to stop doing bath salts is your call.

Mad Max Game Review ahead. Spoiler! He said it's good!

BAH CHOOEY CHOMP!

EDIT; This news appears to have already been noted by the arguably respected Janichsan in another thread. Say "No!" to Drugs, Kids!

Frakking sweet! I got the PC version of Mad Max and played it all the way through last Fall and I am happy to report it is that rarest of games: a movie tie-in that I loved the hell out of playing.
Kestrel (Falcon NW Tiki) – 4.0 GHz i7 4790K / 16GB RAM / 512GB Samsung 950 Pro M.2, 2x480GB Intel 730 (RAID0), 10TB STX BarraCuda Pro / GeForce GTX TITAN X 12GB
Iridium (MacBook Pro Mid-2012) – 2.7 GHz i7 3820QM / 16GB RAM / 2TB Samsung 850 Pro / GeForce GT 650M 1GB

Eric5h5:
When there's a multiplayer version, I'm going to be on Frost's team. Well, except he doesn't seem to actually need a team...I mean, what's the point? "Hey look, it's Frost and His Merry Gang of Useless Hangers-On!" Or something.

Yeah, my 2012 rMBP doesn't cut it anymore, too. If only Apple would bother to update the Macs… :glare:

To be fair, the recommended requirements are about equivalent to a $300 card from 2014. That's really not that bad.

Mac GPU options are just ridiculously out of date and underpowered these days.

I'm hoping the GTX970 carries the load in the 3.33GHz 2009 MacPro I've got. I'm thinking that within the next year or two, after Apple announce their AMD Radeon 5870m-powered 5K Retina PadPro™ I'm going to start collecting parts for that Hackintosh!

I can confirm this.

Frost actually urged me to pick this on up sale once, and wow, it was really really worth it. I actually had to play it almost entirely twice because of an achievement bug that refused to pop. But, the game was so darnged fun, I didn't mind replaying it all over for that one achievement ! LOL.

GPU wise my late 2013 rMBP with nVidia 750M is still supported, if the 2,6GHz i7 CPU can make it.
It's not gonna be pretty though.

I hope Feral fix the Audio glitches in the game for the Mac version though. They really should... *nudge*nudge*, because hearing the buzz saws ji-ji-ji-jiiii-ji--ji---jiiiiitter while walking was one of the single most ear-painful moments in gaming in the past couple years. It wasnt just the buzzsaws though, they were just the most noticed. It happened with wind effects, and some of the engines, and other repetitive audio that would c-t o-t a b-t.

Good sir, may I direct your attention to The Bane from BL2.  You will want to pack gun cotton into your ears for this, so pick a day when you no longer wish to hear stuff anymore.

I can play this on my mini & iris 5100 in Bootcamp 1280x800 and it's only sometimes a bit slow
15 to 25fps.

nice game actually, makes me want to play Rage again also.

Saw the first Mad Max in a shopping mall theatre.  This movie spawned a slew of post apocalyptic style scenarios.  I've got to get this game, though I think I'm going to hate the driving mechanics.  Steering with a key pad sucks the fun out of it.  A mouse is the device most like a steering wheel.  Think if you had to steer with only a left or right button on your dashboard, that's suicidal!

My setup for id's RAGE worked well here: controller for car, mouse on foot.

I tried that, but I found all the precision aiming during driving needing mouse far outweighed my need to have analog turning (the game really didn't need to be that fidly with turning to make keyboard unusable there).

Once I learned that I can slide with the shift key, KB+M became super easy in Rage. I won nearly all races on the first go ( only 2 of them I had to race several times)

BTW the gfx requirements for Mad Max on macOS are especially insane, this time around! Considering what it needs to run in Bootcamp.
