So apparently this Axis Football 2016 popped up on Steam and it's available for Mac. When's the last time there was a football sim for Mac? Only requires a quad core Intel or AMD processor and a DirectX 10.1 compatible graphics card.

Sure, it's no Madden but what are our Mac options? Wait, are we all in agreement that we're calling it macOS now? All the publications seem to be referring to Mac OS as macOS sooo...

Yeah, a football game.

macOS is what Apple is calling 10.12. 8.6 nomenclature, I've come home.

Weren't they using Mac OS (with an X of course) clear up through Mountain Lion though? I think it was Mavericks where I saw "Mac" vanish from About This Mac and it just became "OS X."

I prefer Mac OS, so works for me.

When there's a multiplayer version, I'm going to be on Frost's team. Well, except he doesn't seem to actually need a team...I mean, what's the point? "Hey look, it's Frost and His Merry Gang of Useless Hangers-On!" Or something.

When I first saw Axis Football I thought of playing football against the WWII Axis powers teams.  I was all like "really?".

I've been operating on the idea that Apple's desktop computer operating system it currently named OS X. macOS Sierra has not released yet. When it does, I will then adopt the practice of referring to the Mac operating system by it's new name where there is an existing new release that brings with it a new (old) name.

I say this and it's how I think about it but I bet in the confusion of an impending transition I've used the name Mac OS or macOS in places just the same.

Anyway, OS X is what I am running now. At least it is when I am not in Windows 10 and Linux Mint 18. :)

I'm balls deep in beta testing right now so macOS mnemonic all the way. They are in the process of updating a lot of reference material with macOS and the Bug Reporter only references iOS, macOS, tvOS, and watchOS now

Nobody at work is as excited as me for the new logging features in 10.12 :crying:

I remember having seen a Let's Play of the previous version of this game. It really wasn't good…

Yeah, a football game.

The Madden reference brought a sense of relief. I was afraid this might be one of those Feefa games about guys running around chasing a round ball on the ground for hours at a time until somebody finally kicks it past a goalie which brings about such relief for the crowd and sportscasters involved that they all go insane and start screaming, "GOAL!!!!! GOAL!!!!" because it is so amazing it finally happened while everyone present was still living.

Hmm, the relief was short lived. Oh, well. Besides, real football games are played on console. Everybody knows that.

Ditto. Every time I see this thread in the main forum listing, I picture giant Nazi linebackers in gray, black, and red facing down a bunch of British soccer hooligans while playing American football.

... someone should make that game.

Great minds think alike! When I read Frost's post about Nazi's, I instantly imagined Wolfenstein Football. That would be such a hoot, wouldn't it?
