It has metal support as well.

Is there anyone with supported metal device that can report on the games performance? (Any 2012 or newer Mac that is using Intel Integrated graphics supports metal. Metal does not run on discrete GPU's at this time.)

I belive "Intel only" is related strictly to WIndowServer process (OS X GUI). Newer NVIDIA/AMD GPUs fshould be able to use Metal in games, right?

You might be right about that. I can't find an official confirmation anywhere, but the Mac Pro is marked as supporting Metal and as far as I know it doesn't have any kind of integrated GPU.

Is the hd4000 metal supported? The 650m? I have a 2015 non retina Mbp. I guess I should pick this up and give it a Disney worl. Force each gpu, see how it runs.

I don't understand.  Who am I supposed to kill?  I'm all alone except for this cute turtle and I don't have a gun.  Looks like it's gonna be him... way to be twisted, game.  Are there any puppies I can stomp too?  Sheesh.

Yes. The HD4000 is definitely supported. The 650M I'm not sure.

If you wanted to be the ultimate testing bro you could install yosemite on one partition and run the game, and then run it again on El Capitan and see if there's a performance difference.

The 650M definitely supports Metal. It works on all GPUs (no matter if Intel, Nvidia or AMD) used in Macs since 2012.

This is strange. I distinctly recall hearing about this game or one just like it ages ago and also that it was boring and sucked.

The consensus to the game seems to be that it's a good story with great characters, but the payoff of the mystery is very weak. That's exactly my opinion of the first Walking Dead season, and it's the same writer.

10.11.3

Medium Settings 1680x1050
650M forced
sub 15FPS, barely playable

HD4000 forced
sub 10FPS, unplayable

Low Settings 1680x1050
650M forced
solid 25FPS with some drops to 20, some jumps to 30. Very playable. Still looks great on low.

HD4000 forced
sub 15FPS with frequent drops. Worse than 650M on medium, unplayable.

I would be interested to see how a 1GB 650m in a retina MBP handles the game at similar resolution. I have a feeling the 650M can run the game fine but the 512MB VRAM in this unit is a limiting factor at settings higher than Low.

Will try and find time next week to spin up a USB drive to test the game under 10.10 to see if there is a significant difference with the 650M.

Xbox 360 controller doesn't work under OS X with the tattiboogie driver installed. Works fine with other games. Have sent their support a note.

Prolly no point in testing under 10.10 right now. The metal renderer is not enabled.

https://camposanto.z...atch-use-Metal-

So much for dat WWDC announce eh.

Posted Image

Since they are using unity and unity doesn't actually have metal support implemented yet I expect that is the reason for the holdup.

https://unity3d.com/unity/roadmap

Will remain to be seen if they actually update it to support Metal when Unity supports it.
