There are quad core 2012 mini's in the refurb store right now. Good prices too.

http://www.apple.com...ls/mac/mac_mini

Taking all I have to not buy a mini I don't need.......That and maybe I spent the mini money on Fallout, starcraft, and an xbone.

Hmm, looks like all 2014 dual core mini's now.

Did you buy them all? Tell the truth now. Did you?

Those went quick, most likely because they are the last non-junk Mini Apple released.

Out of stock Mini's always leads to console wars. You can see it coming a mile away.

My nephew switched to PS4 and told me he liked the 360 but the PS4 was better than the bone. I guess the resolution is higher? Can this be true? Do I have to own them both to have my cake and eat it too? Because I want to be the Master Chief but I am rather tired of playing old games with hoogly graphics. Plus PS4 does have a lot of cool exclusives and then there is the whole I hate Microsoft thing that goes way, way back with me.

Then again, compatibility mode opens up all the Bethesda games and some others I've not yet played for the comfy couch and big screen experience.

I like my PS2 controller if that matters and anything is better than my cheesy Logitech Rumblepad F-510 I use with the iMac.

There. I said it. I admit it. I want pretty graphics. It's not wrong. I should not feel guilty about this. I am still a real gamer dammit.

Have you actually had a Dualshock 4 in your hands? It's significantly better than the previous ones.

I have used one. Better than least comfortable modern controller ever feels like second least comfortable controller ever made. Sony needs to figure out how human hands work one of these decades. Maybe the ps6 will finally get it right.

The graphical difference on most multi-platform games is so small, it barely registers. Game X has 80 less pixels than game y. Imperceptible. Games like Rise of the Tomb Raider and Xenoblade Chronicles X prove that you can get just about anything out of today's modern hardware. All 3 consoles pale in comparison to even a budget PC so just making arguments about graphics is a game best left for tweens on 4chan. Don't we all just play retro pixel games anyway. I know I needed this GTX 680 to really get the most out of shovel knight :teehee:

In 2015 you're not buying a console for graphics, they all have serviceable graphics. You're buying for convenience, and selection of games you want to play. Phil Spencer has made an impressive turnaround for a mediocre start out of the gate. Going into 2016, the xBone is clearly the value leader. Better games, better exclusives, better controller (for us mortals), impressive backwards compatibility (the glut of used 360 games will net you as good or better pricing than your average steam sale), better on-line services, extremely aggressive bundle deals (I got xbone, gears ultimate + all 360 gears, rare replay, ori, halo 5, and 50 dollar target gift card for $399). I can't think of a single PS4 exclusive I care about but I can rattle off a dozen xbox games. Crackdown 3, Forza, Halo (5 and master collection), Rare Replay (RNGesus this is a great collection), Gears, Sunset Overdrive (extremely underrated), Quantum Break, Knight Squad (also on steam). Plus Crackdown 3. Did I mention Crackdown 3. I'm pretty sure I did.

Satya Nadella's Microsoft in 2015 is not the microsoft we used to hate in 1995.

If there's one thing I can count on in life, it's out of stock 2012 mini's leading to console flame wars on a Mac gaming forum. 60% of the time, it works every time.

I really wish I'd maxed out my credit and bought every quad core mini out there when it became apparent that Apple was severely gimping the minis. I was apprehensive and thus only bought three i7 minis... and I sold them as custom builds for a very tidy profit almost the moment I had them up for sale a couple weeks later. If I'd had today's hindsight, I'd have taken out a loan, bought like 50 of them, resold them, paid off the loan, and helped myself to a free car.

When there's a multiplayer version, I'm going to be on Frost's team. Well, except he doesn't seem to actually need a team...I mean, what's the point? "Hey look, it's Frost and His Merry Gang of Useless Hangers-On!" Or something.
