This is a follow-up on another thread where I suggested Grid 2 multiplayer event against each other.

What do you think?

Who would like to race and when?

I would probably totally suck, but I'd be interested.

I have no idea how good I am, cause against the NPC's, if they just 'tap' me, I go flying off the track, despite if I RAM them they don't budge. Plus they speed cheat if they do happen to wreck (all by themselves it seems), they could be five miles back, then in five seconds they are back on my tail. So my driving experience and view on the game is skewed towards playing against cheating NPC's.

YMMV.

I'm sure we would need a rule, or unsaid rule, of 'try to keep it clean' ... meaning no intentional destruction derby driving ;) Unless we do that, I think there is a freebie DLC for that? I have not tried it.

I am also not very good at racing games :-)

I have both of you in Steam friend list so thats that.

What about time? Do you prefer weekdays or weekends?
When I say 18:00 GMT, it's 20:00 for me, 11:00 for US west coast, 14:00 US east coast.

Oh my schedule is pretty much all over the place.

Fun trying to link up times across the ocean :) I can usually be available anywhere from 10-23 EST... on weekends. Weekdays its a different story. I'm available around 17-23 EST... unless there is a day where I simply cannot find anything to do and need a game.

In general, I'm also more flexible on the weekends. That would be around 19.00 CET, wouldn't it? If we insist on Thursday, an hour later would suit me better (18.00 GMT/20.00 CET/14.00 EST).

Whops I mixed up weekENDs for weekDAYs before making that suggestion. But if 14:00 on Thursday is ok for you... :)

Next weekEND is no go for me.

Should we try to invite someone from Feral? They have plenty of drivers. Some of them too good though..

Okay, flattery will get you everywhere. We may be able to offer a dev or two for about an hour. See you on Thursday!

I don't have ANY driving games.  Probably reflects my real life attitude towards driving, I avoid it as much as possible.  I have an 88 Extra Cab Toyota pickup that just last month went over 100,000 miles.  It is almost exclusively parked in a garage, people ask me at stop lights if I want to sell it.  No, I don't want to sell it, and you guys can't race it.

Driving is the worst. I have to drive 2 hours a day for work and I hate every minute of it. I'll be the first person to buy a self driving car......or wait. A self driving RV. wouldn't that be awesome. RV drive me to next camping destination. GO in back, eat pie and watch old TJ Hooker reruns.

Unfortunately, I think the 'online racing' part of GRID2 is like locked to this feeble starter car... and not the Volkswagon I absolutely loved racing around in chicago with. I dont have much money, so I've not done much of anything to that car the game gave me in online mode. Haha.

Excellent. Prepare for defeat. I mean… our defeat. After having seen your Grid 2 driving tips videos, I can't imagine we'll see anything of your guys but a quickly receding dust cloud on the horizon.

Ah you mean our DiRT 3 Hints & Tips video? Yeah, those guys aren't available... so you're definitely in with a fair chance this time!

Ok, so how do we actually gather? I've not done one in this game, so do we all need to be linked on steam friends first to do that... or is there some in-game person-finder or something.

Two of our devs are around for a couple of races at 5PM UK time; that's in just under two hours from now. Cool? ^__^

There is an option to invite friends, but that means Steam friends. However, given the number of online sessions I was able to find recently (exactly zero), I wouldn't be surprised if we could just find each other when someone simply creates session and the rest just lets the game find it…
