So I have been, uhhhhh testing 10.11 for work. I swear this is all work related activity. Is it just me or does BL2 run a hell of a lot smoother under 10.11 than it ever has under previous OS's. I almost might be able to stomach it under 10.11 if this holds true.

Anyone else running the beta that can comment on 10.10 vs 10.11 BL2/TPS performance?

Does BL2 Mac have a built in FPS counter? Its not that the Frame rate was ever that bad under OS X but I always got this weird jitter or frame jutter. I don't know what to call it but it made me motion sick. That doesn't appear to be the case under 10.11. I used some Open GL tool that says its the same 4.1 as 10.10 so I wonder if there were some other underlying fixes (drivers, API, etc)

If I recall correctly, you can enter "stat fps" in the console. You might have to enable the console first, though.

There's an FPS counter in Steam now that you can enable in its settings. Works for non-Steam games if you've added them.

Your devotion and professional work ethic are admirable. Few would go to such lengths. I tip my hat to you sir.

By the way, that odd jumping around of FPS I noted in Dead Island the other night (Mac version) and for the first ever, I felt sick playing a game. In a short time I actually began to feel nauseas and had to close it. It was really terrible.

I have been tempted to try the public beta but then am a little nervous about it break apps I used frequently so have been holding off. Then again, this is just at home. It's not like any work depends on anything here or any income, etc. So I guess I could take the plunge. I meant to post about this recently and forgot, wondering if you guys like to be adventurous and do such things or just wait on the release.

If reverting to the previous version isn't painful, I probably wouldn't mind testing the waters for the fun of it, umm, I mean to assist Apple in shipping the highest quality operating system humanly possible for the good of all due to my expert testing ability.

Just skimmed 25 page thread of what is reported working and not working on MacRumors.

I will wait for the release. In fact, I will probably wait for at least a couple point releases like last two times. Better off.

Will wait until the GM. Sometimes I go for betas if I'm looking forward to features, but the only thing I really want is Metal, and that's almost pointless right now.

Did install the Safari 9 beta for Yosemite, though. Wanted the tabbed audio controls yesterday.

I'm waiting till 11.1 or 11.2. I learned my lesson with Yosemite.

El Cap in its beta state is already better than Yosemite.

Granted that's a very low bar!

Geez, guys, Yosemite is not bad. At all. And now that they put discoveryd back in, the wireless issues (which I did not have) are fixed. They just released the 5th patch. It's safe. There were far worse bugs in the good ol' Snow Leopard days of the OS.

Now if you want to bitch about iOS 8 on the 6 Plus with me, I'll be over here...

There may be some bugs in 10.6.8, but overall its still a better OSX than all successors ;)
