Good stuff. I enjoyed KOTOR not long ago (Aspyr port was excellent) so I'll be buying and playing this for sure when it becomes available.

If they bother to bring (very) old goodies like Fahrenheit and KotOR II to the Mac, this gives me hope to experience the Mass Effect trilogy or, at least, the first game natively in OS X some day. Make it happen. :)

Yes, Mass Effect!

But Kotor2 is also nice.. :) If we are really lucky, they may implement some of those fixes fans made, or maybe just be able to apply them. Or stuff like this one: http://www.moddb.com...tent-mod-tslrcm

Are there security spikes in KOTOR 2? More importantly, do they actually work? (I should probably finish the original one of these days/years first, heh.)

Looks like it came out today, with Steam Workshop support. If you haven't played it yet, highly recommend you install the unfinished content mod.

This is nice and all but is this really what Mac gaming is being relegated to. Lego releases and old Xbox ports? Though given the performance of recent AAA ports to OS X if old box ports are stable, I guess I'll take it.

First off, YES!

Second, could the original KOTOR get the same kind of update? Even if it comes down to making a seperate application, like a Special Edition, I would soooo buy it!

Seems like Aspyr heard you: the Steam version supports this mod via the Steam Workshop and it's available for the MAS version from Aspyr.

Are you buying the game from the Mac App Store? Don’t miss The Sith Lords Restored Content Mod, available as a free download from GameAgent! This bonus mod adds lots of extra content that didn’t make the final cut of the game during its initial release. It’s basically more Star Wars—for free!

I have downloaded the game from the Mac App Store and played the tutorial. I wouldn't call this a port, because it enhances the original game significantly: Retina resolution and widescreen support are cool, but the game also implements full DualShock 3 and 4 gamepad support. It even shows the original PlayStation buttons in-game and not only the Xbox layout like many other games. Achievements are nice, too. Feature-wise, the Steam and App Store versions are on par except cloud saves. Maybe Aspyr could bring iCloud support to the table in a later update, or -- even better -- cross-saves between the Mac and iOS version, if KotOR II gets a mobile release in the future. Well done, Aspyr. :cool2:

It's a great deal. IMG Pro subscribers get an additional discount. I would have bought it off of MacGameStore in a heartbeat, but I still got more than 50 bucks from an iTunes rebate card, so I opted to use the Mac App Store. Hopefully, Tuncer forgives me -- someday. ;)
