It's great to see all these games coming out on Mac and knowing I will never have enough time or passion to play even half of them.

Buggy Early Access Multiplayer Online Survival Simulator (BEAMOSS for short) No. 5,313. Doesn't particularly pique my interest, even though it does not have zombies for a change.

Looks like anyone can drop into your game.  Perfect for getting griefed by some numb nut.  I like the sandbox aspect to it though.  Is there solo?

One of the top selling games on Steam for the past few weeks. I'm not interested personally, but definitely lots of people who are.

? What is up with all these early access survival sandbox games? Is it that they ALL suck, and The Next Joe™ thinks he can make his version of the same thing, but do something slightly different than the dozens before him because he didnt like _X_ or _Y_ ? I just don't get it. Was there some initial survival sandbox game that was so awesome that every tom dick and hairy wants to do a knock off on?

DayZ mod was probably the original. They are really fun, especially if you can get a few friends together.

I've completely lost faith in DayZ ever being finished. Dean Hall, the original mod creator and the project lead of DayZ standalone, seems to have completely lost interest in the project. Side projects and console ports are apparently taking up most of the games development time (PS4 version in the works), while the PC version sees the addition of stuff like bicycles, while no actual bug fixes happen for weeks or months.

ARK: Survival Evolved still has the goodwill of the community and the belief that it will be finished. DayZ does not.

There is a guy in InfoSec that is swooning over Ark. I dunno, it at least looks flashier than a lot of the *insert survival early access game of the week* but gods damn there are so many of them. And it's ultra sandbox eve style which looks way too hardcore for casual old man like me. I'll stick to Minecraft and Saints row for my sandbox fix.

And that dum elite that fridgedgepooper made me buy MADE me I SAY.

Its alright, I don't have enough time to play it but it sure is a lot easier once I broke out the old joystick vs. mouse mode. I was just in a constant spiral of doom from not enough of a light touch with the mouse.

My interest was shot out of the water when I watched the opening of this video and whoever was controlling the huge, muscular avatar offed the little one "because he was Black..." I'm not going to pay for anything to run into trolls like that... they annoy me enough in all Call of Duty titles.

Seriously though I wouldn't let the racist comment in this vid prevent you from at least being interested in the game. There are always gonna be toxic players who makes disgusting comments/jokes and flame their teammates in any online game. Literally every game ever. The vid you posted is just some random person playing the game. It's not an official video from the developers or something.

Yeah, I've run into some pretty vile people in ... well ... yeah, every MP game that has had voice chat (and even text chat). I cannot recall any multi play game where it was clean (except Lan parties with Marathon ... but even then some of the guys could get a bit out-there).

The people you run into in Dota 2 are horrendous sometimes. I'm a pretty damn positive person too, I try and keep everything happy, and yet there are still some that are just toxic.

You know what had the nicest folk. Doom 3 on the Xbox.

A. It had that specially designed Co-op mode, which there were very few full co-op experiences back then.
B. Even in the PvP modes it just seemed like a much older, higher caliber of folk. People like me that cut their teeth on games like Doom and were then slightly more mature than your average chocolate milk drinking Halo Hobo. Really surprised me how nice people were on that. "great game Rakden" Well I f***ed your mother to.....wait what did you say?

The guys I used to roll with in Planetside 2 were all of the elder folk, and they just had good ole fun. No constant slang, trash talk, foul language or raging... just witty banter, good quips, and some pretty hilarious rambling musings while we waited in ambush keypoints to smear random nubs trying to cap a point by themselves.
