Hello all - I searched but didn't find a thread on Dead Effect for Mac. It's the first game I've bought in a very long while and being dirt cheap on Steam helped somewhat! Anyhow, really nice. Feels like Doom 3 in some ways. But done better...  Lots of zombies to kill so I love it :D
Anyone else playing this?

Steve

I've seen gameplay of it, it might be fun, but I'm so worn out by zombies, and it looks like a really crappy iOS game anyway (I'm pretty sure it was originally).
Maybe it really is all cocks in the end.

I'm with pickert on that notion. I've not played it, but the images and vids just looked, eh, not something I'm wanting right now. Dead Island 1&2 were enough for my FPS zombie needs for awhile. And there are definitely more then enough zombie games out there right now.... if I see yet another early access 'zombie survival open world' game I'm ... well... popsnizzle, as I was typing this one came up, and lost all respect for Steam.

GoatZ?

I think the zombie genre has been done to death.

If I see one more zombie game I am going to turn into one of them. Sadly, I will shuffle about aimlessly in my misery forever as everyone else is also so sick of these that there will be nobody to shoot me and end my suffering.

I'm stoked about GoatZ.

Well... lol ok then. But I do enjoy the whole zombie thang plus it's a great fps game too. So I like it. But I guess I'll be one of few Mac users doing so? ;)

I read an article a while back on Polygon (I know, bear with me), about how zombies are just finished, and that they've been disgustingly overused, and how we should have a new reigning champ of horror. I think they suggested lovecraftian horror. I wish people had taken their advice.

I never found zombies to be all that horrific to begin with. They shamble, groan, and falling apart. What drives me nuts is watching Walking Dead and getting SOOO impatient and disgusted with how five people get all flustered and freaked out when ... OMG THREE ZOMBIES ARE SLOWLY COMING TOWARDS US! what do we doooooooooooooo aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. *sigh*

Yeah, surprisingly fun game, I've spent a long time on it. Definitely done better than Dead Island! But a lot are better than Dead Island for Mac.

I really enjoy it. It plays well and I'm liking the story of it too, so far. (although I must admit HL2:Update has started to take up my time recently!)

When i saw the thread title I thought someone was inquiring about Mass Effect's 'dead' status in regards to a mac port.
