Hi everyone,

I'd like to announce the re-release of A Mess O’ Trouble, a classic Mac-only adventure game, for OS X. A Mess O’ Trouble is an old-school adventure game by independent author Ray Dunakin, and the third game in his Ray’s Maze series. It has long been one of my favorite adventure games, and I wanted to be able to play it on current Macs, so I re-created it for OS X.

In A Mess O’ Trouble you play as either Fearless Frank or Daredevil Dawn and enter the strange spatial anomaly known as Ray’s Maze. The Maze consists of numerous worlds connected by one-way passages called Jump Doors. You have to explore these worlds, collect as much treasure as possible, and find the well-hidden exit! Along the way you'll encounter obstacles that must be overcome using your ingenuity.  The worlds in this game include a tropical island, a ghost town, an enchanted forest, and the incredible Voidbeast. Getting out of the Maze requires thwarting fearsome foes, outsmarting frustrating bureaucrats, and saving an ancient civilization from destruction!

The OS X release has a new menu system that eliminates the need to type commands (though you still can if you like), and comes with a Hint Book with complete maps of the game. If you like old-school adventure games, check it out!

More information and a trailer is available from the official website: http://amessotrouble.com
The game can be downloaded from the Mac App Store: https://macappsto.re/us/4D0n6.m

That's the best thing I ever saw that pretty much predates my existence in the Macintosh world (1994). Totes buying it because Mac.

One tidbit I didn’t mention: The original release of A Mess O’ Trouble was reviewed in the August 1994 issue of Inside Mac Games by Robert C. Lewis. That review is not on the IMG web site, but quotes from the review appear on the AMOT web site here: http://amessotrouble.com/quotes.html (It’s the second entry on the page.)

Mac user since 1986 here.  Man, I remember when all the games used Paint textures in black and white.  This is very nostalgic looking.
