Haha. I used to be pretty good with my Logitech Pro 3D... well... in flying. I could fly and maneuver like you couldn't believe... but when it came to extreme accuracy SHOOT at something, I had serious trouble with that joystick. I think maybe due to how its deadzone works, its stiffness or something. Its just a real pain to be accurate (as say opposed to using a mouse... if only I had two right hands).

I need a new joystick I guess. Maybe you do too? What do you use?

Logitech Wingman Attack 3. It's old but it works well enough in Microsoft Flight Simulator X and X plane. No I'm pretty sure I would not survive in the depths of space as a pilot.

I think the most fun I have in space, is skimming asteroids and flying at breakneck speeds around space stations weaving in and out of all their protrusions. Nothing like flying in at full burn banking towards the docking bay and sliding in backwards to a perfect stop :)

Just dont ask me to shoot at anything without some sort of aim assist though ... gah!

Maybe you need some piloting lessons? I know Frost is REALLY good at the space flying biz! I'd have to get into the game and see how the controls are for me to judge my prowess in that universe.

So, like, they are having a great 40% off sale on the base game this week (I'm a little late in posting, woops).

If you were interested in grabbing this game, this is now a very good time as they rarely ever put this sucker on sale!

https://www.frontier...gerous-cat.html

If you do buy it, I suggest buying direct from Frontier's store. Its the same price as on steam, but frontier get more from it!

Macnn just posted a "review" of elite but it is such a poorly written, thinly veiled steam hate letter I am reticent to even link to it here. I'd hate for them to get traffic for such drivel. I'll buy a lot of arguments pro/con about steam but cripes, the review for Elite Dangerous was 25% history of elite, 50% ranting about steam being windows on your mac (and most of the problems were pretty clearly the reviewers network, not steam). 25% actual review that consisted of. "yea i totes got to fly a ship". I've never read such pointless drivel in my life at MacNN. I don't know if they got rid of all the staff and hired up teenagers getting paid in hot pockets but another article like that and they are coming out of my morning news bookmarks folder.

Wow. I mean, what does E:D have anything to do with steam anyhow? All the networking portion, and game account, and the like are all part of Frontier, not valvo... the only thing even remotely tied to steam is that, yeah, you can link your Frontier account to steam so you can share screenshots and write a review.

Speaking of which, I did buy E:D just now, and linked it to my steam account. Thats the extent of steam being involved.I sent my money directly to frontier ;)
