Man, this thread is pretty cool. From my short experience with SteamDBs, most to of the time they are right. But sometimes they are not. I would give it an 80% success rate. What do you guys think?

Has there ever been a time when it was wrong? I mean you might argue that Painkiller HD is wrong but as far as I can tell it seems to be in private beta right now so it's not completely off the table.

There are quite a few SteamDB flags that are wrong although this thread has been more correct than most a SteamDB update is far from a done thing.

Now that's definitely a franchise I never would have expected to get a Mac port: Metal Gear Rising - Revengeance is apparently on its way. But, on closer inspection, it turns out to be a Cider "port". :(

On the other hand: Sleeping Dogs. :D (Feral's Harmful Elements?)

SWEET!! Hopefully this means Konami is at least more open to Mac ports.. perhaps other japanese publishers (like Capcom) will follow suit. How many other japanese games have been officially released on Mac before.... wrapped or otherwise?

DRAT! That means it'll most likely not have multichannel surround like the Windows version has. Also when I played Max Payne 3 it seemed as though antialiasing wasn't working with it either. The only thing that kept me from playing it (Metal Gear Rising) in parallels is how full screen wasn't working properly for me and it didn't support 16:9 resolutions above 1280x720 on my hardware and software configuration. May have to give it a go in Wineskin instead. But I'm going to give the cider version a go first because I don't have to pay extra for it.

Also cool, I've been wanting to play this game too.

*quick update*
Metal Gear Rising is showing up in my Mac steam library now but it's not downloading.. so it's one of those cases where it's been added but not actually available for download yet. Still, I'm pretty stoked a game such as this is being released on the Mac at all.

In other news Aspyr has released CoD Modern Warfare 2 and 3 today... I'm not a CoD person but I know others here are. As far as FPSes go I'm more looking forward to Wolfenstein The New Order which is out and generally getting positive reviews although it's having pretty much the same id tech 5 launch problems that RAGE had at this point.

So very, very happy about Sleeping Dogs finally coming to Mac, hopefully Thief and AC Black Flag are right around the corner also.

But where those games japanese franchises? You do have a couple of sonic games I'll give you that (but no Sonic platformer game). But you haven't done Final Fantasy (fill in number here) or Bayonetta or anything from Capcom, Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, etc. like that now have you? As far as I can tell you've mostly done their more western stuff like for example Eidos games such as Hitman, and Tomb Raider which only fell under the Square Enix umbrella after the latter purchased the former. Even the Sonic games you've ported where made in Britain. OTOH the latest DMC was also made there. Ninja Theory is from Cambridge. BUT.. that game hasn't been ported natively to the Mac either. :)

True but you mentioned Japanese publishers being on the Mac not your personal favourite Japanese series making it to the Mac ;) You have a point about some Japanese series not being on the Mac but as they are not usually well supported on Windows (being primarily console based in general) these things take time.

Good things come to those who wait etc. :)

Yeah I have to admit their renaissance on the PC is pretty recent thing. They had been reticent to bringing their games to the PC up until recent... same thing with fighting game developers like Netherrealm Studios who took 2 years to bring the latest say.. Mortal Kombat to the PC (now published by warner bros.). It's probably helped that development has shifted to being PC based from what I have seen. Capcom started this and they where some of the first to come back to the PC. I guess it's sorta like a trickle down effect. :)

I won't rule that out completely, but I think the signs seem to be actually pointing towards "Harmful Elements" begin Sleeping Dogs.
