Spec Ops: The Line for Mac will be available on Steam Nov 7.
Which is… today.

Time to wrap up Metro LL.

Looking for people to play multiplayer/coop with. Hit me up please!

I put up an extended look at the first part of the game if anyone is interested.

Hmmm, well. I already own the PC copy of it. It would be nice to play it on the Mac, but I am concerned the iMac I would use is not up to scratch; the specs are in my signature below. By the way, does anyone know the status of cross platform play? As it would be a pity if I used my PC and couldn't play with anyone on their Macs.

iMac: 2.8GHz i7 | 16GB RAM | 10.10.5 | ATI Radeon HD 4850M | 512MB VRAM

Custom: 3.4 GHz i5 | 16GB RAM | Win 7 SP 1 | nVidia GeForce GTX 660 OCII | 2GB VRAM

It has cross-platform play.

I think it'll play fine with those specs; there's usually not a lot of stuff on the screen at once, it's mostly desert. You might have to drop the resolution down, that's not a lot of VRAM for a 27" display.

Just a short notice that you can forget about this game on intel HD 3000 on OS X.
The PC Version runs ok at 800x600 or even 1024x768 under Bootcamp.

An extrodinary game, that questions everything that makes Brown-Colored-War-theme Shooters 'fun'.
hey, don´t worry - it´s only red pixels on your hands...

yeah, that is true. Thanks for the reply. Maybe I will run it windowed mode or something on the Mac.

I got the impression that there hardly seems to be any multiplayer game going on. I tried a couple of times but only found rather deserted servers twice.

The game is so far great. I don't really want to use the word "fun" in connection with it, though, but the firefights are often rather engrossing. The story is definitely top notch.

Regarding the performance, I found that I had to take the settings down to medium to ensure consistently smooth gameplay. But even on this settings, the game has a tendency to lag, especially when turning quickly or moving into larger areas. I first thought that this might be due to the motion blur, but even after disabling that in the ini file, the lag isn't gone (though it helped a bit). I think the game struggles a bit to shovel new content into memory.

Hey. I just signed into Steam on the Mac and noticed Spec Ops: The Line is now in my list of Mac Steam games (I already owned it for PC). Excellent.
Kestrel (Falcon NW Tiki) – 4.0 GHz i7 4790K / 16GB RAM / 512GB Samsung 950 Pro M.2, 2x480GB Intel 730 (RAID0), 10TB STX BarraCuda Pro / GeForce GTX TITAN X 12GB
Iridium (MacBook Pro Mid-2012) – 2.7 GHz i7 3820QM / 16GB RAM / 2TB Samsung 850 Pro / GeForce GT 650M 1GB

Eric5h5:
When there's a multiplayer version, I'm going to be on Frost's team. Well, except he doesn't seem to actually need a team...I mean, what's the point? "Hey look, it's Frost and His Merry Gang of Useless Hangers-On!" Or something.

Got it too and can't wait to play it but I've got other unplayed games queued up first.  This is one whacky fun turn of events for Mac gamers.  More games than I can play.  Whoda thunk?
