Great, the one person who has an NVIDIA Titan and a Mac Pro will be thrilled.

Anyone else missing all their 16:10 resolutions in Displays after updating to 10.8.4? Suddenly I can't drive my 24" CRT at the correct aspect ratio anymore off my MacBook Pro after updating. 1920x1200, 1600x1000, etc. are all gone. Jumps straight from 1920x1080 to 1920x1440.

Tried resetting the NVRAM/PRAM, the SMC, even a clean install of OSX and no dice. Grr. I wish I had kept my 10.8.3 installer on hand so I could downgrade easily. I can restore my 10.8.2 installer from Time Machine, but I never downloaded 10.8.3 as a full installer. I guess if all else fails I can downgrade via time machine but I'm kinda not wanting to do that.

And no, it's not my hardware. Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 still does 16:10 under BootCamp same as always.

Well that was some good fortune. The installer I had backed up on Time Machine was actually 10.8.3. Guess I updated it sometime in the past few months and forgot. That's what 14-hour days does to you.

Anyway, definitely a 10.8.4 bug. 10.8.3 is back, and along with it my 16:10 resolutions. Damnit, Apple.

I'm going to update to 10.8.4 again just incase there was a snag in the install and that's all it was... if my 16:10 resolutions vanish again, I'll rollback once more.

EDIT: Ayep, it's a 10.8.4 bug. Updated, and away my 16:10 resses went again. FFS.

Same :) I'm holding out for as long as I possibly can, because I haven't seen a new OSX that I would care to bother with that 10.6.8 doesn't handle already.

Sorry to here of the troubles Frost :( did Apple take down their Feedback page again? Or is it still up?

Maybe a bit late, but I had a similar problem on my 2011 Mac mini with Lion: the OS simply didn't offer a couple of resolutions like 1280x720, that my (16:9) monitor definitely supported. I ended up adding the resolutions manually with SwitchResX. That worked fine and the added resolutions even remained available after the SwitchRes trial ended and I de-installed it, and even survived all the system updates for Lion on that computer.

It's up. Now that I've isolated it I'm going to tell them about it. Hopefully they actually read and act on feedback and it gets fixed!

Thanks for the tip, Janichsan! I'll give SwitchResX a try.

Janichsan, you're a hero. Thanks to SwitchResX, I'm now running in 10.8.4 and my SGI FW9011 is back to running 16:10 resolutions just fine off my MacBook Pro.

Bah! I use the sig G5 running OS X Leopard Server as my primary computer alongside the MacBook Pro and the only things I miss are Messages and Safari 6's speed. :P

AirDrop? faster OpenGL? better OpenGL? iCloud? FindMyMac? a lot of little improvements in finder, iMessage, app can save state, much more better dictation, gestures (i can't live without 3-fingers change screen)... support for modern hardware, new safari with offline browsing list (with iCloud support)... i could continue 2 pages of big and little things which are new or much better on 10.8 than 10.6.
And performance! http://ikir.ikirsect...sitem.php?id=38
Sometime at work i see a user saying that, after using 10.7+ for a few days they come back screaming it is awesome.
Normal users are quite... not to smart about OS upgrades, but i expect gamers like us are more techy.

All of that is useless nonsense that means nothing to me.

There are more devolvements in the OS to offset any non-noticeable improvements in the finder. And all the other buzzword gimmick popsnizzle is just that. popsnizzle ;)

Plus I don't game on my mac... I game on a PC.

I just upgraded to Mountain Lion from Lion over the weekend. I mainly did it for video Airplay mirroring to stream from my laptop to my tv through my Apple TV. So far so good.

This not means they are useless, you are ignoring them, but you can't remotely compare 10.6 to 10.8.

So popsnizzle is your comment in a 10.8.4 thread stating that 10.6 is better. This is truly no sense.
