XCOM: Enemy Unknown Heading To iOS This Summer

Firaxis, the developer behind last year's XCOM: Enemey Unknown has announced that the game is coming to iPhone and iPad.
According to Firaxis, the game will basically be a direct port of the console and PC version of the game. No word on pricing just yet, or an exact release date yet, but it should be available this summer.
It certainly seems like a game that will translate well to a touch-screen. Head here to check out our reviewof XCOM.

Anyone noticed that the game is out? $20 and the download is only 2 GB big – it'll take up more than 3 GB installed, though.

None with numbers and stars and popsnizzle (to the best of my knowledge), but both TouchArcade and Joystiq are enthusiastic.

I got a $15 iTunes card unexpectedly as a gift, so I picked this up. However, I need y'alls help. My iPad has over 4GB available, but the instal for XCOM keeps telling me there is not enough space on the device to install it. WTH! Any ideas for what the issue is?

Your iPad requires room both for downloading the compressed game, and unpacking it. And since it is borderlining on 2GB, I assume you need to clear a bit more room.

Much more. The downloaded installation package is 2 GB big, while the installed game sizes in at more than 3 GB. So, you'll need more than 5 GB free space.

Thanks. I thought as much, but I figured I had enough room for both.

Strange, it says 1,89GB on Apples iTunes. But then everything makes sense!

Yes, for some reason, Apple only seems to state the download size in the iTunes Store.

I guess they just give you the size of the compressed binary. Somewhat useless.
