There are a lot of people in the world and everybody is different.  It totally works for me that some might be offended by being forced to undergo a mock religious rite and some might be offended that their religion is blasphemed.  In fact, I'd be a little disappointed in people if this were not the case.  Gamers are not Stepford Wives, they run the full gamut of humanity.  I think this is a healthy reaction.

Immersion in water should mostly evoke the first two Bioshock games.

Nah.  "Politically correct" would have dumped on the Christians.  This was "actually correct".

I hear ya. I hear ya :)

Our thought here was that most people already have a Facebook account, and services like wootbox give us an easy way to do a contest for people signing up for GameAgent through Facebook.

The goal of course is to get people to take a look at GameAgent.com...which I should clarify is not a push to get anyone to buy from GameAgent.com.  We've become completely agnostic as to "where" gamers buy our games, so we've redesigned GameAgent to be a tool, rather than simply a sales outlet.  GameAgent tells you what games will run on your machine through the "MacMatch" feature, and it grabs the best prices on the net so that you can get the lowest price with deal notifications, etc.  Instead of just having our own games on there, we put over 200 of the top Mac games on the site including the stellar lineup from Feral plus all the cool indy titles that are out.

That all said, do you guys think that a better way to run a contest next time would be directly through GameAgent?  I guess my worry is, we miss out on all the social effects that a Facebook option would give.

Thanks for all the feedback!  This stuff really helps us out.
I just noticed this post.

Through GameAgent, absolutely! The less things to sign up for, the better. For social interaction... would it be feasible to do it through IMG forums? Sure, it hasn't the footprint Facebook has but Mac gaming's a niche market both Aspyr and IMG are familiar with and, I can only imagine, can successfully continue to push, more successfully together.

Come on, you know you still have the IMG disc that came with Star Wars: Dark Forces!

Thanks.

I saw this for a Steam Key for the PC version of this game for $27.95.  Would this perhaps work for the Mac version too when it comes out?

I think Aspyr has said that Infinite will be on Steam but they have not said whether it will be Steam Play or not. So, the key might work for the Mac version or it might not. No way to know for sure at this point.

Good point, Bif, especially since the Mac version isn't out yet.  I decided not to go for it. I need to finish up some other games anyway.

I did though, see the Borderlands 2 Season Pass quite cheap on Amazon a few weeks ago and even though Amazon claimed it was PC only, discussion on here made me think it would work for Mac, too. ANd it Did.

A quick point of clarification on this topic guys.  Regardless of how a promotion is marketed, any time a title goes on sale for either the PC or Mac and that title is SteamPlay, the sale price should always work for both platforms.  Because of this, Aspyr and our partners keep each other in the loop so there aren't any surprises on our monthly reports :)

I apologize if these have been asked, I haven't read thru the entire thread.

Are Mac Pre-Orders also going to get game codes for Industrial Revolution, Bioshock Infinite's puzzle game prequel?

Any chance you can sneak in the Comstock China Broom Shotgun and the Comstock Bird’s Eye Sniper Rifle? I won't tell anyone! Although I might start a Heeheehee, we got retailer-exclusive Pre-Order items in the Mac Elite Edition of Bioshock Inifinite! Neener neener! thread...

Thanks.

From Fink Ind. FAQ:

Quote

How do I unlock the Comstock China Broom and the Comstock Bird’s Eye?
The Comstock China Broom Shotgun and the Comstock Bird’s Eye Sniper Rifle are exclusive items that can be earned only by pre-ordering BioShock Infinite at a specific retailer and redeeming your BioShock Infinite: Industrial Revolution code. They cannot be unlocked by completing levels in BioShock Infinite: Industrial Revolution.

So you have to find someone who would give you their specific retailer code (aka: chances are close to 0%).

But I guess it will be included with some of the upcoming DLC, until March 2014, later.
Or Aspyr manages make a deal like they did with the Rage Campaign Ed.

Yeah I ran into that before typing up my post, hence the 'sneaking' suggestion. :P  As you mention this has been done with other titles for us, I'm hopeful it continues and serves as a selling point for the Mac version.

Cool, I don't them taking their time to polish their ports. I'd rather wait an extra month than getting a half-arsed port with rubbish performance.

Just in case you missed it: the first BS-I DLC is out and guess what it contains :)
