Judging off the first two, I cant say what infinite would be like. If they ditched the retarded audio library used (pc side), infinite could be quite awesome.

This review might help it:

though it's IGN, they have rather forgiving reviews. So my bet is this will be a solid 7 or 8 / 10

Well, the game isn't really released yet, for any platform, and the IGN review seems to be the very first one. But it is Bioshock, it is from Ken Levine (as are Bioshock 1, System Shock 2 and Thief) and all the trailers look awesome, not just the first one. So, yeah, it's basically just optimistic expectations, but very justifiably so in my opinion.

They gave it a 9.5 actually.  9.4 was for the console version, because, you know...consoles.

Anyone know if they're using the Havok engine again? It takes advantage of multi-core rendering and made Bioshock noticeably smoother on my MacPro.

I decided to get it, even though I suck in shooters. But I think I will follow Dr. Janich's advice and play Feral's brilliant BioShock port first. :)

IGN is usually 1 to 2 points higher than my rating would be

Anyone able to fathom a guess as to how it will run on the rMBP? or is to early to say without specs?

It's too early to say.  Graphically, the game is a beast but we are shooting for rMBP support on default settings.  The 650M is likely, the HD4000 though...not sure yet.

Could use some more ram in my imac. If I can run it with my half gig 6750m, then I'd rather play the game on it.

My wife bought this for me (PS3 version) as an anniversary gift this weekend. I've played it for a couple of hours now. It's pretty fun, in many ways like Bioshock, but in others completely different. One thing about it is that it's an open world, much like GTA games. Unlike Bioshock the first hour is pretty much exploring the world, so there's no combat aside from some carnival games that let you test out guns & vigors (Infinite's equivalent of plasmids). The one thing I really don't like about it is the save system. It uses check points, whereas Bioshock allowed you to save anywhere. I was kind of surprised that it was only 720p since the original was 1080p, so graphically it's not as good. You'll notice a lot of blocky textures if you get close to some objects. I've read that the PC graphics are a lot better (as you might imagine), so it will probably be a non-issue. That's my mini-review of the game so far.

If I recall correctly, Bioshock 1 on the PS3 is only upscaled to 1080p. Internally, it also runs works at 720p. Apart from that, a PS3 game that only runs at 720p shouldn't be that surprising, especially when it's graphically somewhat more complex.

Seems as though I spoke too soon. While it's fairly open, you can't necessarily go back to a zone after you've finished certain tasks. For instance, there's a key you find early in the game, and after you find out what it's for, you can't go back to that place, as the section of the city never sinks far enough for you to dismount on it again.

 Interestingly, that guy that made the complaint didn't seem to have any religious qualms with fictitiously murdering hundreds of fictitious denizens of Columbia in partially most bloody fashion. But a fictitious baptism was too much...

Yup lol. I'm thinking MGS will need to post a disclaimer, or our poor support guys will be swarmed by complaints ;) I mean... you should see some of the idiotardic write-ins. Some are epic. That article is about on par LOL!
