So the PC version is to be released tomorrow. Does anyone know if the mac version will be released as well?

Spring.

I  contacted EAand asked if buying the PC version would get me the Mac version (like most their games). They said yes, but people have been told different things. I decided to take the risk since I have a support ticket I can use to complain if need be.

I'm glad I held off on the pre-order. I nearly pulled the trigger but alas, at least for now, it doesn't seem like the SimCity we've all been waiting for.

Well, the beta was a blast, and just about all other reviews have been very positive. Polygon gave it a 9.5. Can't wait til midnight...

Sounds pretty bad. If the always online DRM hadn't already deterred me from  the game, this would. And look at the screenshots: the cities are really ridiculously small.

The first DLC for $20 will be "expand the dotted line by 2 units!".
The second DLC will be "expand the dotted line by 2 units! stacks with first DLC!".

To be fair, focus groups reacted with much confusion when told the game was to be called "Sim Hamlet."  They thought they'd have to do soliloquies about the nature of death, etc.

Well the city size doesn't concern me so much as their other comments. The always on and no save points could be a real problem. I'm sure I will still pick it up though. I'm a sucker.

Always online for a solo game is a sale-killer for me. I won't spend the money till I see them release a patch that removes the nonsense, or ... nope, there is no or.

Have been looking around in the Steam forums lately? The amount of stupidity in the Mac subforums is immense...

I'm pretty sure EA promised a simultaneous mac and pc release.

Right, and EA failed to deliver. MGS never promised simultaneous release though, yet people are blaming MGS for 'not releasing the game I paid for!' ...

No, they always said it was coming later. Better a native port later than a sucky cider port (with server issues) now.

Yeah, it's a no-go for me.  The only chance they'll ever listen is if enough people vote with their wallets (well, maybe...they'd probably just blame it on piracy or something else ridiculous).  Also I didn't go for Diablo III, and while Blizzard wouldn't care, it does mean I'll get Torchlight 2 when they release the Mac version, and it's unlikely I would have gotten both, since for me a little Diablo(clone) goes a long way.

WAT? I cant give more beans today?! WAAAAAT.

Eric, yes, they will most likely blame it on piracy, and in turn make even MORE ridiculous anti-piracy schemes that continue to hurt the legit customers. Sad cycle.
