I thought it might be a good idea of just having a general thread on what's going on with GOG on the Mac side of things as time goes by, especially since some great new (and mostly old) games have received the Mac treatment today:

Alpha Centauri (+SMAX), Fallout 2, Freespace, Ultima 7, Terminal Velocity, Blackwell Bundle (first time available on Mac which isn't even available from the developer's own site or anywhere else), and a few more...

Another noteworthy addition of late was Spiderweb's complete Avernum pack which includes Avernum 1-6 and Blades of Avernum for a measly $12. Interestingly enough apparently the older games in this pack, which I think is all before Avernum 4, are being run in Wineskin as they never received the Intel Mac treatment. Also the Geneforge 1-5 pack will finally be available for Mac next week.

They finally did the Mac version of Fallout 2? EXCELLENT.

Now I just need Crusader: No Regret.

Aaaand it looks like they added Crusader: No Regret. Along with the Total Annihilation Commander Pack. MASSIVE WIN!

Now all I'm missing is Unreal, UT, and Unreal 2.

I'm a fan of Fallout 3, but not a massive fan of RPGs in general. What are the chances I'd enjoy Fallout 2?

I have been playing Shooters since I got my first Commodore and it startet with Doom and Quake in to the FPS.

Then I played Fallout since I liked the topic. Well this game sparked my interest in RPG Games that is still burning today.
And having played F1 and F2 before playing F3 made it so much sweeter.

That said F1 is the better game (IMHO). F2 is bigger but mostly the same, some game mechanics changed, they say F2 is more unforgiving but it's like saying: "you prefer a gold bar or a gold bar enveloped in slices of lemon"

It was (is).  I have it.  I'm pretty sure the box has only been opened once, just to see the insides.  It's on a closet shelf next to Freedom Force and No One Lives Forever 2 (both of which have also never been played).  I got them all on sale from MacPlay long ago ($5 each or less maybe).  And they did not play well (or at all perhaps) on Intel-based Macs which is why they gather dust on my shelves.  That, and I have more games than time to play them.

It was on OS X, and runs as long as you can use 8-bit color depth and Rosetta.  So, not any modern Macs really.  (Same for Fallout 1.)

Fallout 1 originally had an extremely buggy Mac OS 9 port by MacPlay. Later, Omni Group ported both Fallout 1 and 2 to OSX, and they were far more stable. But they were never updated to universal binaries, so will only run on PowerPC machines. I have all three.

Now there's finally a way, via GOG's ports, to play Fallout 1 and 2 on an Intel Mac without Rosetta or booting into Windows.

Okay, thanks for the clarification. I thought I played both at some point on my Mac.

I'd love for Carmageddon 1 and 2 to come back the Mac. Wasn't their a Kickstarter campaign for that recently, at least to get it to iOS?

The iOS version has been released, but that hadn't anything to do with the Kickstarter. That campaign was successful, but I think the game hasn't seen the light of day yet.
